A Honeymooners Vetarans Day:
(The Kramdens and Nortons are in Washington D.C. Ralph & Ed are watching the Veterans Day Parade in Washington.)
Ralph: “I wonder where the girls are. They said that they wanted to get another view of the parade from where we are.”
Ed: “I don’t care as along as I am away from Trixie. Whoever organized this parade probably doesn’t have a calendar. Yesterday was November 11.”
Ralph: “You stupe. The reason why they are having the parade today is because November 11 was a Sunday. They try not to hold parades on Sunday.”
Ed: “Well, they hold July 4th parades on Sunday, don’t they?”
Ralph: “They might but not this parade. Well, take a look at all these veterans. With the Iraqi war veterans home after eight years of the Iraq war, I bet that they are honored to take place in these parades. Here are some now.”
Ed: “Take a look at that World War II veteran. He’s got to be 90.”
Ralph: “I am sure glad that these people protected us from those lousy, stinking terrorists. We should all feel proud of them. They made a lot of sacrifices to protect our freedom and our way of life.”
Ed: “Truer words have not been spoken. If we were back in New York, we should make all of these people honorary Raccoons.”
(Audience cheers.)
Ralph: “You can say that again Norton. These people in this parade are the real heroes with them protecting us and with the Afghan forces going to be out in 2014, we will be seeing them in Veterans Day parades.”
Ed: “I am proud to be an American.”
Ralph: “So I am I.”
(They both sing a song about being proud to be an American with other people joining in.)
(Jackie Gleason walks on stage. Audience applauds.)
Jackie: “Thank you. How sweet it is.”
(Audience cheers.)
Jackie: “Ladies and gentlemen, Art Carney.”
(Art Carney walks on stage. Audience applauds.)
Jackie: “Stay right here Art please.”
(Art stands right beside Gleason.)
Jackie: “I just want to wish all those Veterans, including Art, a happy Veterans Day.”
(Audience cheers.)
Art: “Thank you.”
Jackie: “The Miami Beach audiences are the BEST! GOOD NIGHT!”
(Audience cheers.)
