. . . Maj. Nelson told Dr Bellows about Jeannie early on, in the series? That would have gotten rid of a lot of the plot lines, but perhaps it would have created a few new ones!
And also, what if Maj. Heally was never told about her! That certainly would have created a few new plots!

It probably wouldn't have worked. Major Nelson would no longer have to have told Dr. Bellows all the silly BS stories whenever Jeannie got him in trouble.

By the same token, however, I always thought Tony could save himself a lot of trouble by telling Dr Bellows (and of course having Jeannie prove it to him). Bellows would think Tony was crazy if he told him, but if Jeannie proved to the Dr that she was a genie, then what? Nothing in the regulations of the Air Force says an officer can't date (and later marry) a genie!
Of course, that would ave ruined about half the homor of the entire show........
