I would like to see James At 15 again, but I agree chances are probably very slim it will be out on DVD, it likely will have to remain just a memory.

One show that would be the holy grail for me if it came out on DVD is That's Life, musical/comedy series from 1968-69 with Robert Morse and EJ Peaker. There was a reunion of sorts for That's Life a few years ago where Robert Morse and EJ Peaker both attended, there was talk at the time of maybe releasing this show on DVD, but chances of it actually happening are again probably pretty slim. Sure would be good to see it again though, it was a great show.

OH Nuts!

Exactly! Room 222, The Patty Duke Show, and The Paper Chase were three shows I thought would never see the light of day again, but Shout! released them. It was wonderful seeing these fine shows again, especially The Paper Chase.

My Pride and Joy is the entire 19 seasons of Lassie. Prior to getting this set I had never seen the episodes where the dawg changes owners, first from Jeff to Timmy, then Timmy to the Forest Rangers, because the :angryfire :censored: :angryfire who "split" the series for syndication ("Jeff's Collie", "Timmy and Lassie" and just plain "Lassie") LEFT OUT the seasons that contained those episodes!

Because the show is not anywhere on TV to generate a new fanbase. People who watched it when it was on ABC are too old to buy the DVD if it was released because they were in highschool or middle school at the time.

I was a fan of the show when i watched it on ABC at 16 but I would not be buying the DVD now in my mid 30's:lol:

I buy DVDs of shows I liked when I was *6*, I admit not all of them hold up today but it's usually still great to see them again.

Let me add:

The rest of WKRP (again who'd want it w/o original music, like Wonder Years?)
The completion of several MTM Enterprises series
Jennifer Slept Here (I got an OB set from iOffer, though!)
The Golden Palace
Any more game show sets ever since BCI went out of business (Mill Creek reissued their sets, but nothing new)
A seasonal set of Life with Elizabeth

Some great stuff can be found on ioffer, a few years ago I bought the complete Adam West Batman series on DVD, all episodes are uncut and include the next weeks villian announcement at the end of the episodes. There are also a few bonus discs including the 60's Batman movie. A very nice DVD set, I'm happy with it.

I loved that show! I wish they would release it. I'd buy it.

Some old Nickelodeon shows like Taina, 100 Deeds of Eddie McDowd, Caitlins Way, etc. mainly because there's little to no demand for them. I voted for them on the tvshowsondvd website but there were over 1000 shows ahead of them.

Might even go with Disney shows too because even though 2 seasons of Hannah Montana and 1 season of Lizzie McGuire are released I don't think many of their shows are released on DVD for some reason. At least not complete anyway. They should complete Hannah Montana and Lizzie McGuire and release That's So Raven, Proud Family, Smart Guy and Even Stevens.

Glad someone knows what I'm talking about!!! It was a smart, cute show!!! I can still sing the theme song by heart!!

I really enjoyed Caitlin's Way. It was so different from all the other Nick shows!! They should make a show like that on Nick now. I like iCarly and all, but a drama would be cool to see on the network too!!

I would totally buy Even Stevens and Lizze McGuire on DVD!!! Great shows!!! I enjoy Disney's current programing and all, but they sure don't make them like that anymore!!

I'd love to find these.

Brothers was 113 ep 1984-89 cable series created by great sitcom writer David Lloyd. (most famous for Chuckles Bites the Dust ep of Mary Tyler Moore Show).
It was about three brothers. One a former football player who owns a restaurant. One a tough construction worker. And the kid brother who's gay.

The Practice was 1976 series starring Danny Thomas, David Steinberg, Shelley Fabares.
It was written by Steve Gordon, who wrote the great Dudley Moore movie Arthur and then died of a heart attack.
I once saw an ad for it on Ioffer. But it seems to be withdrawn.

Gilligan's Island, McHale's Navy, and Peter Gunn are already out on DVD in BW. The colorized versions weren't offered.

I've given up predicting what will be released or not.......I waited for the DVD In Search Of with Leonard Nimoy..FOR YEARS ....When suddenly I gave up on waiting & I bought it bootleg... Two days after ordering it bootleg ....Tv Shows On DVD announced it would be released on DVD. I kicked myself in the a$$....The only good thing about my bootleg purchase was... I bought the entire season for $40 bucks and the picture quality is perfect...after all had I not bought it bootleg.... I would have bought it from Amazon for $130.00 bucks. (Yeah $130.00 buck...I know...I was Desperate at that time)....So I didn't kick myself to hard. I still plan to buy original from Amazon or some other place...I'm just not ready to pay $130.00 bucks when I have the bootlegs on my DVD shelf... I'll wait until stores drop their price very very low to buy it.... For now i'll just watch my bootleg.:D

I don't think they will ever release The Brady Brides. Although it was one season 6 Episodes...But I'll keep my fingers crossed.

How about American Bandstand? There's a show where you would have to look awfully hard just to find short video clips from it and there always seemed to be many legal issues involved with Dick Clark and his company whenever anyone would try to release it. Now that he's dead, maybe some of those issues can finally be resolved.

No, you need to be a Good Sport and save money for the legit release. Keeping your eyes peeled to see if it winds up on sale somewhere either in a bargain bin or a BOGO Sale. When the price is right, get the legit release and trash the 'boots. (Unless they mess around with the music or refuse to include an episode (For Example Hawaii Five-O. After getting the first two seasons, I bought boots of the entire series, fearing it would get "Abandoned". It didn't, but I spared the disk containing the episode "Bored, She Hung Herself" and the disk containing "Number One with a Bullet" because the former has some kind of PC/Legal F.U.B.A.R. while the latter had music changes in it) :angryfire. As for the rest of the 'boots, I introduced them to my little friend, Mr. B.F.Hammer.

PS. the last show to get "The Hammer" was my copy of Shazam!, a series I thought had a Snowball's chance in  H:censored:LL , of being released. But lo and behold, it got released! :)

Next 'boots to get "The Boot": The Mod Squad and Sea Hunt, legit releases of the entire series for both shows are just around the corner! :D

The way the copyright laws stand as of today The Wonder Years won't be Public Domain until halfway into the 22nd century. I don't blame those who turn to the bootleggers to get a copy of this or any other TV Show or Movie. Any of the Disney Channel original series. It is unlikely that they'll EVER get any complete-season releases on DVD or Blu-ray. All they're ever gonna get is a "best-of" compilation set or a re-edited movie edition. Disney is rather notorious for this.

But the only good thing about Disney Channel is that when they re-run episodes of their TV shows, it's still the same version as the original broadcast. No missing footage or anything, so you could record the reruns of Girl Meets World without worrying about any edited episodes.

Never say never...especially with the recent announcements of "WKRP", "Welcome Back, Kotter", "Batman", & "The Wonder Years".

But if I had to pick a few that stand a poor chance of being released or finished on DVD, I'd pick: "The Drew Carey Show", "Murphy Brown", "Empty Nest", "Evening Shade", "The Facts of Life", "Major Dad", "Mad About You", "Mister Ed", "Mork & Mindy", "Mr. Belvedere", "227", "Amen", "Grace Under Fire", "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper", "Blossom", "The Flying Nun", "One Day at a Time", "The Nanny", "Small Wonder", "Step by Step", & "Who's the Boss?".

We're supposed to be getting some news soon about Shout! Factory releasing a Sony title. I REALLY hope it's either "Maude" or "The Jeffersons"! I wish they'd hurt up and announce this.

From everything I've read bad what I understand of the current situation of all the shows you've listed I would say that's the definitive list of stuff with a low chance to be released or completed right now. With a few of those shows especially it's a real shame. I'd add to that list Head Of The Class and The Steve Harvey Show. Both of which make me angry at WB because they have the masters for every episode of both series and they're in excellent shape. The only remaining hope for those two particularly is either WB MOD, Netflix or iTunes. They put HOTC up, a really large chunk of it on that AOL in2tv thing a few years back but haven't released it yet on DVD/download yet? That's ridiculous! Then again look at some of the shows in the OP that were thought would never make it. They either have gotten released or will be shortly so I wouldn't rule anything out.

I'd also like to see as much of American Bandstand get out as possible too..I came across a seller who supposedly has all of it for 400 dollars on 75 DVDs. After I'm through with all the sitcoms I wanted to see maybe I will think about it but I'll certainly be asking that seller hard questions before plopping that kind of cash down. Hoping that'll start to trickle out before that happens. That'll be more like early next year earliest.

I'd like to see the classic Chuck Barris game shows to come out, but probably due to music rights issues on some of them, maybe unlikely.

But the only good thing about Disney Channel is that when they re-run episodes of their TV shows, it's still the same version as the original broadcast. No missing footage or anything, so you could record the reruns of Girl Meets World without worrying about any edited episodes.
That's not always true.

well, the daytime version of HOLLYWOOD SQUARES doesn't exist anymore because sadly the tapes were erased years ago.:(
And I think it's the same with the tapes of THE $25,000 PYRAMID.

Many Saturday Morning Cartoons got yanked off the air after Peggy Charon and her Action for Television "Do-Gooders" persuaded the FCC to have them banned. :angryfire

Thanks to a little Godsend called DVD many of those cartoons are now available to be purchased. Two that haven't seen a release are the Ken Snyder Cartoons Hot Wheels and Skyhawks. I have acquired a handful of episodes from both series from ioffer (I glad I got them when I did, because they are no longer available from ioffer. com or sell.com). For now they will have to tide me over. I'd better warn everybody, if I get news that one or both of these series does get an official release, I hope everybody remembers the old "Duck & Cover" drills they used to do in public school. The shock wave originating from my house will make last year's Russian Meteor look like a whippersnaper!

Unhappily Ever After DVD if it every comes out I am buying - in complete series version. Don't care about the cost either! My favorite!

Bachelor Father is another one that I would purchase! It should be in public domain but somehow it not! six year run too!

T.H.E. Cat is still another DVD complete series I would purchase.

I can only think of one instance (with That's So Raven where season two episodes were later re-aired with the season three theme song), but that's it. When were other times that DC shows episodes were edited?

Phil of the Future: The season 1 episodes were rerun with the season 2 intro. I believe they also rearranged the onscreen credits so that the Executive Producer names were not shown first. Some episodes were partially reshot before they premiered.

Wizards of Waverly Place: The 'You Can't Always Get What You Carpet' episode was edited almost a year after it premiered. The outtake shown at the end was replaced with a different one.

Hannah Montana: The 'No Sugar, Sugar' episode was partially reshot before it officially premiered.

Kim Possible: Some season 1 episodes were edited before and after they aired. I can be more specific if you want. These versions no longer air. The current masters have different end credits for most episodes.

Shake It Up: The 'Model It Up' episode had one line removed. I can't confirm this, but that's what I've heard.

Phineas and Ferb: The bully song in 'Raging Bully' was changed. I can't confirm this one, either.

Lizzie McGuire: There's alternate versions of all episodes with most of the songs removed. One episode was partially reshot. The subplot with Matt pretending to be sick was changed. I've never seen the first version.

Even Stevens: The 'Thomas Gribalski Affair' episode has a few lines removed. This was a permanent change. In 'Secret World of Girls', a kissing sound was added. This version only aired on ABC.

Well, you get the idea. There's other minor edits. One is in a Suite Life on Deck episode (the time loop one). Or, adding the Disney logo to the season 1 intros of Hannah Montana and Cory in the House.

I am really hoping they will release David Hyde Pierce's first sitcom "The Powers That Be" On DVD. There's enough episodes to make even just a complete series set that could just be one thin box since it was only a 2 year sitcom. But I did find all of the episodes on Youtube. However it would be much easier to watch them on DVD.

Yes I am hoping Warner Archive will release TPTB sometime soon. It has a well-known cast what with DHP, John Forsythe and Holland Taylor starring.

Did I already say every single episode of Sesame Street ever aired and still airing?:)
(Thankfully, some classic episodes have been released to DVD via the "Old School" Volumes. But it just wouldn't be feasible to release ever single episode- you'd have tons of insert repeats, for one thing, not to mention reruns of entire episodes for some seasons- and you'd have tons of DVDs as well, since there's well over 4000 episodes now- and counting! Ah ha ha ha!;) )
I'm also glad that Sesame Workshop has put a lot of classic clips from the show on SesameStreet.com and on their Youtube channel- so there are options for reliving a lot of childhood memories there.:)

They've also got Selections sets on iTunes of...the last several seasons worth of the show. Each one has around 15 episodes a set give or take. Once I can get a bigger storage iPad I'll definitely get them all! I also do need to buy the most recent Old School release before it becomes difficult to get. Any show that has as many episodes as Sesame Street does, and there's not many others that do, will likely not see complete releases right now with the currently available ohysical distribution methods. Best we can hope for now would be collections of selected episodes. Once a bigger physical distribution option becomes available I'm more hopeful we will see more of these massive shows finally start betting released in more complete sets.

I realize that "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" has been released somewhat through amazon's MOD program but the sets are so expensive. I wish we could get better sets with more episodes for the price they charge.

Really!? On Amazon mod!? :o Dear God between some of the October video game and DVD set releases I truly don't need anymore temptation to spend more money right now..I'll definitely look to see how much of it is on Amazon mod..good chance I'll buy some of it early next year once the Fall releases slow up.

But yeah that's just it, there are definitely people like us that'd buy massive complete series sets for some of these shows. The publishers would definitely get a sale from me for massive complete sets for:

Mr. Rogers

Sesame Street

American Bandstand

The People's Court-the Wapner years (wouldn't be at all surprised to see it pop up in the next few years via WB retail physical release, WB MOD, or iTunes. I have a feeling it's going to so they'll have my money if it happens.

The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson-the Vault Collection releases have been a huge hit and have done excellent! Carson Productions has said these Vault releases are tests for much much bigger box sets. I've supported these and have been extremely happy with them. Hell yes I want the bigger box sets!

Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

For complete series sets of all 6 of these shows-uncut and unedited episodes I would seriously consider paying..starting at 500 each let's say as an example. If they do complete series sets like I listed plus very good extras..I'd consider paying several hundred each if the right publishers did them. If they ever do them, but only in very limited numbers yes I'll be there with my credit card. For these 6 shows I'll..just have to find the money somehow.

Yeah, I heard about those too- I'm not as concerned about newer seasons of Sesame Street, though I still enjoy all of it. I particularly would love to get key episodes from my childhood, but it would definitely be great to have the entire series available in some fashion.:)

I'd seen the individual episode DVDs a while back- didn't realize Amazon had done a MOD program for "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood"- that's awesome! I LOVE that show!:)
It would definitely be great to see some classic episode collections of this show on DVD too- along with all the seasons.
