View Full Version : TV Shows That Were Treated Poorly (Or Neglected) In Re-Runs After The Show(s) Ended
jasonbigley 11-06-2012, 12:58 AM Where I Live:
Blossom (I never remember this being on any station after they ended in 1995.)
The Hogan Family (It aired on a local station where I live back in the early '90s at like 4:30/5am and BRIEFLY on ABC Family in 2006.)
Coach (I know it aired on TBS briefly back in the late '90s/early '00s, but in my area, it ALWAYS seems to come on in the wee hours of the morning when the roosters are crowing-when it is on a cable station at all.)
Silver Spoons (The only time I ever remember watching this show in re-runs was on Nick At Nite back in 2001 as part of their "Revenge Of The '80s" block.)
Gimme A Break (If my memory serves me correctly, it was on USA Network a LONG time ago in the wee hours of the morning.)
Out Of This World (I dont think they ever aired this in re-runs, but I watch it on YouTube every now and then.)
Charles In Charge (Aired on TBS briefly back in the '90s and briefly on Nick at Nite ten years ago.)
Head Of The Class (I remember it aired briefly on Nick At Nite ten years ago, but I never saw it on another station.)
L.A. Law (Aired on A&E back in the early '00s, but seemed to vanish after that.)
Webster (I never saw this air on any station.)
Mr. Belvedere (I never saw this one air on any station either.)
I know there is a ton more shows, but too many to mention lol. If cable stations went on variety, we would have a TON of it but they seem to want to run shows like Friends, That '70s Show, Everybody Loves Raymond and King Of Queens into the ground.

megamanj2004 11-14-2012, 09:10 PM Webster - I last saw it on WGN in the mid-late '90s, then on USA in the late '90s, both of which lasted 1 year on there each. Then it returned to local reruns on and off from 2006-08 and briefly in 2008 and then again from 2010-12.
Silver Spoons - been on and off locally from 2008-present.
Furienna 11-17-2012, 09:38 AM Blossom (I never remember this being on any station after they ended in 1995.)
I'm not familiar with the other shows, that you mentioned, but "Blossom" was aired on a Swedish channel back in 2004. I haven't seen it again since then though.

I guess some shows just are so much popular than others. But yeah, variety is good.

Blossom did air on a local channel where I live in the mid 90's. LA Law had a long run on Lifetime in the 90's too. I do remember The Hogan Family and Gimme a Break had pretty good syndicated runs when they first went into syndication. Coach airs on my Me TV affiliate right now. You're right though that most have vanished in recent years.
JamesG 11-17-2012, 12:14 PM I want to see "Unhappily Ever After" airing again. It hasn't aired in repeats since the late 90s.
With no DVD release and no repeats airing in over a decade it seems the show is pretty much gone.
Mr. Television 11-17-2012, 12:16 PM Another show that has vanished is Perfect Strangers. I never knew why. I thought it was one of the funniest sitcoms of the 80's.

I remember one of the Dayton stations airing reruns of the show in like 1997.

I remember it airing on several local affiliates in Cincinnati in the mid-late 1990s, and on some cable stations in the mid-2000s.
Interestingly there is a very active Facebook group dedicated to the show here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/148827065152897/
treky 11-18-2012, 01:36 AM COACH airs on REELZ on weekdays at 3 & 3:30 pm.

It was on my Fox affiliate when it first went into syndication and ran about 2 years. The only other time I've seen it was briefly in the middle of the night on N@N about 7 or 8 years ago.
Coach was treated like syndication gold in my hometown (Spokane), because that's where Craig T. Nelson was born and raised. It aired for a few years in prime access on the local CBS affiliate.
LUNCH 11-18-2012, 02:50 PM "CPO Sharkey",after it's original run I don't recall seeing it in reruns--even though it must have been shown at some point."Brooklyn Bridge" is another one. There really are SO many good shows that have been treated poorly after their original run.

Neither one of those shows had enough episodes to really be worthy of syndication.
Brooklyn Bridge enjoyed a decent run on Bravo before the network changed its focus to bottom-of-the-barrel garbage.
