It seems weird that we hardly ever saw them again (after being semi-recurrent characters) once their grandsons Nicky and Alex were born.

We never really see any of their parents. I think we only saw Joey's mom in that first season and Danny's mother was played by two different actresses if I'm not mistaken, one was Doris Roberts? Anyway, I think we only saw her twice. But you're right. Jesse's parent's were a fixture and featured in a couple episodes. I don't know why they stopped showing them.

I liked Jesse's parents a lot, they were down-to-earth, nice folks who were a lot like grandparents you'd meet in real life. My wager is that the cast was getting too large and the producers and/or ABC wanted to cut back.

Also, John Aprea (Nick) was at that time a regular on the now-defunct NBC soap opera, Another World, which taped in NYC. Of course, Full House taped in LA, so maybe he was tired of the constant cross-country commutes and/or TPTB were tired of accomodating him.

That's a good theory Monika, and I'm guessing that the budget thing is at the top of the list. I loved his dad and mom and I wish they had shown them more often!

I agree. The budget thing is probably the biggest reason we didn't see more of Jesse's parents.

The last time that we see Pam and Jesse's parents is when Jesse and Becky got married and the first lady to play Mrs. Tanner is Alice Hirson. Also the first time that we see Jesse's mom, she was played by a lady named Rhoda Gemignani.

I hate when a show can't stick with the same people all through the show.
