Did anyone else notice Alf in the new 10-10-220 commercial with Terry Bradshaw? I wonder why after all these years Alf would star in a commercial.

It's supposed to be in a talk show format. Maybe ALF is showing up in commercials again to get people's interest in ALF back up. Check out this link if you want to read more. http://www.tvshows.de/alf/e-news.htm Central Perk 02-08-2002, 08:13 AM I remember watching an Alf movie...I forget what It was called but It was really funny! MacLeaper 02-08-2002, 09:21 AM In reply to the last post, the ALF movie you're talking about is the 1996 TV-movie (at least in the US) Project:ALF. Interestingly enough, what was only a TV-movie in the US, was a full blown movie run in theaters in Germany. And it was released on video and DVD in Germany. You can actually get it from Amazon.com's German site. Central Perk 02-08-2002, 04:35 PM Would the dvd be in german too? MacLeaper 02-08-2002, 09:24 PM I would assume the DVD would be in German too, otherwise if it's in English, (or maybe just English subtitles, and that IS a possibility), I'd almost buy it myself. But I've already got it taped off of TV. Why do we immediately jump to asking about DVD? Whatever happened to VHS video? Whatever happened to Beta video? (LOL :-) As a side note, I did have a Beta VCR for a while. I actually saw some Beta blank video tapes, still in packaging, for sale at Circuity City just this last two months or so. Really! (For like $5 or less!) Now I remember why I don't have a copy of the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie anymore. It was on Beta. Anyway, I do have a VHS VCR now, and I'll stick with that until maybe some GOOD movies are released on DVD. (Okay, the Superman movies are good, the Rocky movies are good, and the Batman movies are good. well, the 1st. two anyway. Is Supergirl on DVD? :-) That was pretty good! And of course, the Star Trek movies are awesome!) But I'm still waiting for The Star Wars Trilogy (the original one, yes, the one from the 1970s and 1980s) The Indiana Jones Trilogy, and the Back to the Future Trilogy. Good news on the BTTF movies. They are to be released on DVD this summer and the movies might possibly be re-run in theaters. That will be so cool! Anyway, sorry to go so off topic..... (Like on one episode where Mrs. Ockmonik carved a spud to look like ALF, and went on that talk show) It would kind of be like that, and **this is the clincher** If everything goes smoothly, It could be taking ABC's latenight spot competing with The Late and Tonight shows. That's IF the negotiations fall through. None of the cast from Project: ALF would be regulars on it. DetectiveGriffin 04-28-2002, 04:55 PM I saw ALF last week on E! being interviewed, but i didnt really pay a lot of attention to it. This one one of my older brothers favorite shows, so my friend who gets hallmark channel is snagging some eps for me to give him as a gift. It would be neat for alf to make a comeback, im sure my brother would really dig that. The german dvd would not be playable on a us dvd player unless it is (often illegally) modified to play PAL format dvds; just in case anyone here was thinking of buying it. Bummer, eh? Im working on getting my dvd player modified; but i do wonder, does anyone know, once i modify it to play region 2 PAL discs, if i try to copy them to vhs tape, with the output to the tape also be PAL. My best bud wants to buy extended edition harry potter movie from UK when its released and have me convert to vhs, but ive been wondering how successful it will be. |
