View Full Version : The biggest mystery of Three's Company that won't ever be solved
TVFactFan 11-01-2012, 11:16 PM Why Chrissy, Janet, Terri, and Cindy never ever had a steady boyfriend:lol:
Which explained why they were always in Jack's business:lol: But seriously all of them were nice looking women and not only did they not have a boyfriend, they never had dates that often either.
The most pathetic moment of the series was Janet and Terri going on a date with the same guy since neither had no other options:lol:
PrettyinPink55 11-01-2012, 11:21 PM Maybe the men were put off by the living situation?!
You make a good point though. I would've liked to have seen at least one of the girls have a steady boyfriend.
But then again, how many steady girlfriends did Jack have? Just Linda and Vicky?!

For Jack I think just season 3 and season 8. But in between he still had dates. The girls never really had any dates. Just off the top of my head the total number of dates I remember
Cindy.....none
Chrissy...maybe 2
Janet......maybe 2
Terri.......maybe 2

It had to have been more than that for Janet, Chrissy, and Terri!!!
And Cindy had Winston Cromwell III     I love that episode!!!
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 11-01-2012, 11:36 PM I kind of just assume it wasn't shown because the show chose to focus more on Jack's goings ons.

But that wasn't a date for Cindy, that was just some guy who wanted to marry her-lol
The only date I remember for Janet was Cheryl's Father and Phillip
She had another date but it was off screen so I guess we can say 3 LOL

What about the Bob guy she wanted to move into the apartment? Or that guy she was dating who wrote the article on the trio? Or David?
I mean yeah they never showed steady boyfriends, but I assume it's just because they didn't want to focus on a storyline concerning a relationship. You're silly to say she only had like two dates lol. There were plenty. I could probably name more.

Yeah the newspaper guy and that tall guy Bob who left her for Donna LOL
PrettyinPink55 11-02-2012, 12:17 AM No, there were more!!
janet42 11-03-2012, 11:18 AM How about Janet's boyfriend Roy that she mentioned in a couple of episodes in season 3?
gilligan fanatic 11-03-2012, 12:50 PM When Jack thought the FBI was after him he went on a date with someone, I can't remember if he was Chrissy's date or Janets
Big3sCompanyFan 11-03-2012, 01:47 PM I kind of just assume it wasn't shown because the show chose to focus more on Jack's goings ons.
That's it! Jack was the star!
It would've messed up too many storylines if the girls had a steady BF. So they showed the girls as single and playing the field.
Mr. Television 11-03-2012, 06:45 PM When Jack thought the FBI was after him he went on a date with someone, I can't remember if he was Chrissy's date or Janets
He went as Chrissy's date. lol
TVFactFan 11-03-2012, 07:06 PM He went as Chrissy's date. lol

TVFactFan 11-03-2012, 08:27 PM Chrissy had a boyfriend named Elmo.
That's right, lot more than Janet though
Big3sCompanyFan 11-04-2012, 11:55 AM Chrissy had a boyfriend named Elmo.
LOL...that dude was a total moron!
PrettyinPink55 11-04-2012, 03:58 PM I love how everyone else was so afraid of Elmo, but when Chrissy yelled at him to leave just once, he put his head down like a child and obeyed her!!

Not that he needed closure but it would have been nice to see why Chrissy never went out with him again in the TAG scene.
The episode ends with Chrissy and him in a relationship and then we never see him again

There are TONS of characters in TC you only see once. Like most of the girls Jack dated. Larry's dates too! Janet's sister, Terri's sister, etc.

I know but they were just dates for Jack. It was stated that Elmo was her boyfriend so I just figured it would be wrapped up in a TAG that she doesn't want to see him again

That drives me nuts!!!   Especially when it's a family member and then they have a wedding or other significant life event later on in the series and said family member(s) are forgotten!! They do it to this day on TV and it drives me crazy!!!    I know not everybody is available at the same time, but still!! ;) It happened a lot on Golden Girls too. :)

But they were Jack's girlfriends! Like when Shelly drove in all the way from Oxnard. She wasn't a blind date!
Yet we never see her again!

Which episode was Shelly in?
Big3sCompanyFan 11-05-2012, 01:04 AM Which episode was Shelly in?
That was the episode where Janet's parents came so Jack and Janet pretended to be married.
It's one of the very few dated episodes since Jack says "if she had a phone in her car." These days even homeless people and people in slums have a cellphone!

A unannounced visit in any year is wacky:crazy:
Who the hell just POPS up at your house like ..."HEY IT"S ME:lol:
PrettyinPink55 11-05-2012, 01:09 AM Who the hell just POPS up at your house like ..."HEY IT"S ME:lol:
Jack had several girls do that.

No, Shelly told him ahead of time she was coming so it wasn't unannounced. Shelly had already left so in the early 80s there was no way to contact someone in their car unless they were a millionaire!
