have you ever considered that people just don't like dealing with YOU because you're a pain to deal with? :)

yes i am, i like a brand of dvd that i like and i ask in the trader if they will use it they do not have to and my dvd player only uses dvd-r and i do like to know if they got my side of the trade and i let them know that i got there's
so yes i am a pain sorry for that i have been trading for awhile now and i expect to much from other traders for that i am sorry. so if no one wants to trade with me let me know and i will end my trading days for good.

What's unreasonable about wanting reliable discs you can play?

thats all i ask in a trade that the trader use a brand of blank dvds that work on my player which is verdatim dvd-r if they can not then i ask them what kind they use if its a cheap brand that know will not work on my player then i ask for the next best to verbatim i am doing a trade now the trader said he use's sony which is ok with me i know that is also a good brand i try to work with the trader so everyone is happy sometimes it does not work out thats the way it goes at least i tryed.

Nothing. But when he comes to me wanting not only a specific brand but a specific format, that's a little much. Nobody in their right frame of mind is going to want to go out and buy a special spindle of discs for one trade just to appease the kooky demands of someone. I'm glad me and him never traded, it would have been a nightmare.

sorry you feel that way you seem to be the only one yes i ask for verbaim dvd-r if the trades uses another brand that i know is just as good as verbatim like sony dvd-r then i will make the trade but i will not make the trade if the trader uses a cheap brand that freezes and the picture breaks up
i did a trade like that the trader used a cheep brand i told him he made a new set with a cheep brand again and then blamed it on me so i got burned i said never again sometimes i will send blank dvds of my brand for the trader to use so i know will get a good copy and they are fine with that.
i work with with the trader so both of us are happy so i am sorry you feel that way.

some traders do not use dvd plus like me my player only works with dvd-r
think about that everyone does not have the same format as you.

Based on the title of your thread he must not be the only one.

sorry i worded that reply wrong i ask everyone i trade with first if they will use verbatim dvd-r if not then i ask what brand they use if its a good brand
like verbatim then i make the trade if not then i will work with the trader to
use a brand we can both agree on if not then me and the trader agree to end the trade if we can not agree which is fine i do not put presser on anybody.

How about investing in a $30 player that plays EVERYTHING? then you don't have to worry about disc brand.
I NEVER buy verbatim discs.

besides, if the discs are copyable you can make copies yourself with the brand you like and use the others in a trade - shouldn't be a big deal

As for trading, I am looking for someone who wants to do some "DVD Rip" trading.
I've given up on the on-line rentals (N-Flix) and their ridiculous prices and slow service.

yes i plan a buying a new player still i agree with you i can copy the dvds on the brand i use but if the the trader use's the brand i use then it saves me some work. and joker i wish i could help you with the rips you want but some dvds have the copyright thing on the dvd and i can not get past that to copy it you have been good to me and i wish i could help you sorry.

I think it is because of Ioffer and Sell.com. For awhile it was so easy and cheap to find stuff there. I got just about everything I was looking for. I haven't traded for about 3 years, just ventured back over here on a whim. I don't have Red Skelton or Cagney and Lacy, though. I have mostly 50s-60s stuff.

Got a list? I don't have the Verbatim stuff, I usually use T-Y, but my supply is low. Forgot the great website I used to order that stuff from. Very popular place...dang.
(for Three14)

Aha! SupermediaStore. Good memories. They've even got some good prices on Verbatim. Are they comparable with Taiyo-Yuden? Everyone used to claim T-Y was the best.

I think Netflix and streaming have killed this hobby more than anything. I was collecting Law and Order SVU now the complete series is available for streaming. Many shows are like that.
