"Now, there is VERY good news this time. Everybody will remember that the first season was plagued with edited episodes. However, this time, every single episode is UNEDITED, running invariably between 25:50 and 25:55 per episode. What is even more fascinating is the episode “Advantage to Betty,” which for some reason, an original version with the original sponsor opening credits and closing credits slipped in, and even includes Robert Young introducing us to the episode coming up the following week. Naturally, this episode runs a bit longer, at 26:14. It would have been nice if all of the episodes could have been like this, but at least we got everything that should have been there this time"

I see that 14 out of 26 episodes of season 1 (including the series premiere and the season finale episodes) were syndicated versions (not counting "The Promised Playhouse" since they included the original version, too).

Does anyone know why such a high number of cut episodes in season 1 and then not a single cut episode in further (and much longer) seasons?

What I mean is - were they really not available or did they simply not care and only after the audience backlash they made sure to include the original episodes in subsequent releases (and this seems more likely since there's not a single cut episode in seasons 2-6)?

If the latter, will season 1 ever be available in uncut form?

Thanks. I looked at an old VHS tape that had some Adventures of Superman from Nickelodeon and FNB from TVLand. The episodes all ran 22 minutes or less. I have the Superman DVDs so I could see they were more in the 25 minute range. I was pretty sure those FNB on TVLand were probably edited too. Thank You.

season 6 eps. also ran over 25 minutes. as for season 1, unfortunately these were released when shout was relatively new. they evidently could not piece things together. rhoda s1 suffered this problem also. and many of the that girl dvd's suffered from audio/video sync problems.

the only thing wrong with season 6 is that they used the wrong closing theme music. other than that it's pretty perfect.
