View Full Version : Wilson: 'Office' spinoff is no more, Actor says NBC won't harvest 'The Farm'
Zoneboy 10-29-2012, 08:20 PM The proposed NBC spinoff of "The Office" featuring Rainn Wilson's Dwight Schrute character will not go forward, according to the actor.
NBC did not comment on a tweet by Wilson that said that NBC had passed on the project. "The Farm" was scheduled as a backdoor pilot for the final season of "The Office," with former "Office" showrunner Paul Lieberstein exec producing alongside Wilson and Howard Klein. Majandra Delfino and Blake Garrett co-starred in the halfhour, which will still air as an episode of the long-running NBC series.
Though the news means no "Office" spinoff will find its way to air next year, several members of the show have projects in development, including an Owen Ellickson-written pilot featuring series regular Craig Robinson with Greg Daniels and Klein among the exec producers.

PrettyinPink55 10-29-2012, 09:49 PM Maybe it's for the best. I can't see Dwight without Jim or Pam or the others.

I would have been interested in seeing him in another office but definitely not a damm FARM
LOL

Nellie is the worst. That creepy woman actually makes my skin crawl.
As for The Farm, that show probably would have been mainly about Dwight and Moes picking beets.

Yes even NBC thought a show about beets sounded ******** LOL

It all would have centered around picking beets and running that lame weirdo bed-and-breakfast hotel Dwight had going on. I suppose they could have made a few episodes with some odd guests visiting the hotel, but overall, the whole idea just sounded pretty lame to me.

Like I told someone else I would have been interested in Dwight working in another office instead of a damm farm LOL
Sounds like a spinoff about Jim and Pam moving to Philly because of Jim;s new career wouldn't be a bad idea

Pam seemed really angry that Jim invested the entire $10,000 without finding out if there were other investors or whatever. I hope Jim doesn't get suckered by these people.
PrettyinPink55 10-29-2012, 10:55 PM Dwight and Mose were funny, but I don't know if they were funny enough to hold up an entire series by themselves. The lovely thing that works about The Office is that the cast works so well as an ensemble. They play so well off of each other.

Toby in his own series? LOL    Now I'd definitely tune in to make fun of that nerd! In Michael Scott's last episode before he moved to Colorado, Toby wanted to introduce him to his brother who also lives in Colorado. Toby was talking to him via webchat once, and the Toby brother is just as dull and boring as Toby!
How about a spin-off called The Flendersons!

Toby was a big loser and I did feel bad for him, but the way Michael Scott HATED on him was so hysterical!
Michael to Toby: "You are a waste of life, and you should just give up."

Yes! That IS what made it so funny. Michael really had no personal reason to dislike Toby. Toby always tried to be nice to Michael, but Michael saw him as dull, boring and annoying. The things he would say to him were so funny like once Toby was going on and on about his Rayon detectors and the silent killer. Well, Michael then says to Toby. "No, Toby, YOU are the silent killer."

My favorite was when Michael said:
"If I was in a room with Hitler, Bin Laden and Toby and I had a gun with two bullets... I'd shoot Toby twice!"
Lol, it was great that no one (even Dwight) thought it was funny.
Dwight: "You were being funny and then you went too far."
