Darlene wasn't studying art. She was studying creative writing. She was only 16 at the time, so she got her GED and then went to that college. Becky also got a GED, so I wouldn't exactly say they didn't get high school diplomas.

Right, they did drop out of high school, but they also got their GEDs so that's why I would still say they are high school graduates even though they didn't graduate with their high school classmates.
