Does anybody remember an ABC show called "The Girl In My Life"? It replaced "The Dating Game" in July of '73 and, in a double irony, ended on December 20, 1974, exactly 9 years to the day TDG debuted and also the same day TDG's sister show "The Newlywed Game" left ABC. Jefferson Graham in his 1988 book Come On Down: The TV Game Show Book lists it as a game show, though it isn't mentioned in any of the editions of The Encyclopedia Of TV Game Shows. However, Wesley Hyatt in his Complete Encyclopedia Of Daytime Television says it was a testimonial. What was the actual genre?

I remember the show from the early 70s and to me, The Girl in My Life was different from other shows on network daytime TV since the premise was about women who made a difference in somebody's life. The host was actor Fred Holliday. It was the only show he hosted and he passed away from a heart attack in 1995 at the age of 59.
