Don’t call this a burger. This is the “Le Burger Extravagant” (complete with snotty French accent) and it could be going down your gullet for $295. That’s about 295 one-dollar deals from McDonald’s.

The “Le Burger Extravagant” holds the Guinness World Record for the most expensive hamburger. It’s made with Japanese wagyu beef infused with 10-herb white truffle butter and cheddar cheese, topped with a fried quail egg and a truffle-buttered roll.

On top of that is caviar and — get this — a solid-gold toothpick encrusted with diamonds, made by the jewelry maker Euphoria.









2. Frrrozen Haute Chocolate

Remember when an ice cream sundae was just two scoops of ice cream, chocolate sauce and maybe a banana or sprinkle of candy on top? That just won’t do at Serendipity 3, a place for decadence.

The “Frrrozen Haute Chocolate” (Seriously, three “r”s”? Is that really necessary?) is made with a blend of 28 types of cocoa and edible gold, served in a edible-gold-lined goblet with an 18-karat gold bracelet and 1 carat of diamonds in the bottom.

All of it can be yours for $25,000.







3. The Great Food Truck Challenge Kebab

Created by chef Andy Bates to promote his appearance on “The Great Food Truck Challenge”, the world’s most expensive kebab will put you back about $1,225.

But you get milk-fed lamb, saffron flatbread, Scotch bonnet chilies, mint and yogurt infused with champagne, plus an edible gold leaf garnish.

Mind you, this is from a food truck.







4. Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata

This is no ordinary frittata — not with a fancy-schmancy name like the “Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata.”

This meal will cost you $1,000, and includes lobster and 10 ounces of caviar from the Caspian Sea.







5. Gold Phoenix Cupcake

For about $1,000, you can partake of this chocolate cupcake, dubbed the “Gold Phoenix.”

It's baked with premium chocolate and vanilla beans, then covered in 23-karat edible gold sheets. It comes accompanied by organic strawberries, a dusting of more edible gold and a golden spoon.

Who knew gold tasted so good?







6. Fabergé Egg Chocolate Dessert

Looks pretty, doesn’t it? Just like a Fabergé egg. Hold your breath to find out how much it will set you back: As of today’s exchange rate, it’s $35,642.

Layered with champagne jelly and biscuit joconde, the pudding is covered with chocolate, edible gold leaf and a 2-carat diamond. Orders need to be made three weeks in advance.

We're wondering why there isn’t more metal poisoning among the wealthy due to the intake of all this gold!







7. Sushi Del Oriente

Created by the “Karat Chef,” Angelito Araneta Jr., the most expensive sushi in the world is nigiri sushi wrapped in 24-karat gold leaves and studded with five .20-carat African diamonds.

Other ingredients include 12-year-old Italian balsamic vinegar, muscovado sugar, Norwegian pink salmon, cucumber, mango, foie gras, smoked and pickled sea cucumber, crabmeat and wild saffron.

It goes by the title “Sushi Del Oriente” and is only $2,000 for five pieces. A bargain!







8. Samundari Khazana Curry

Priced at a whopping $3,200, the "Samundari Khazana" or "Seafood Treasure" contains Devon crab, white truffle, beluga caviar, gold leaf, Scottish lobster coated in gold, four abalones and four quail eggs.

It was created to coincide with the DVD launch of the movie Slumdog Millionaire. Strange, there’s no mention of Goldschlager in any of these menu items.







9. Chef Frank Tujague's $1,000 Bagel

Even the humble bagel can get the "Pimp My Ride" treatment. For $1,000 you can eat this bagel made with white truffle cream cheese, goji berry-infused Riesling jelly and gold leaf.

At least chef Frank Tujague is doing it for a good cause. A portion of proceeds are donated to the Les Amis d’Escoffier Scholarship, benefiting culinary students.







10. Capitol Dawg's Hot Dog

No, not the hot dog! A hot dog is a hot dog — that’s why we love it.

But at Capitol Dawg in Sacramento (way to represent, Sacramento!), customers can eat a three-quarter-pound, 18-inch all-beef dog made with French mustard, garlic and herb mayo, shallots, baby greens, smoked bacon, moose cheese, tomato and dried cranberries on a Focaccia roll toasted in white truffle butter for only $149.49.







11. Chef Renato Viola's Pizza

Hold onto your hats, folks, this pizza is a whopping $12,000.

Yep, Chef Renato Viola in Salerno, Italy, makes an eight-inch Louis XIII pizza topped with mozzarella, lobster, three types of caviar and dusted with salt hand-picked from the Murray River.

He even waits three days for the dough to rise. The cost includes a team of three chefs to prepare the meal in your home anywhere in Italy.

But what there’s more! It comes with — no joke — limited-edition cutlery.







12. Spencer Burge's Meat Pie

Created by Spencer Burge, the pie contains wagyu beef, matsutake mushrooms, winter black truffles and French bluefoot mushrooms. I don’t even know what that stuff is, but it must taste great since it's $14,260 for a whole pie and $1,782 per slice.

Maybe the price is sent soaring by the two bottles of vintage 1982 Chateau Mouton Rothschild wine used to make the gravy and a crust covered in edible gold leaf.

1. “The Jewel of Pangaea”

Available in Singapore at Pangaea, a club for the rich and famous, the Jewel is a concoction of “gold-flecked Hennessey brandy, 1985 vintage Krug champagne and sugar, garnished with a Triple X 1-carat diamond by jeweler Mouawad”.

It’ll only set you back about $26,000.







2. 1787 Chateau Lafite

There are three categories of wine drinkers: casual, aficionados and the crazed super-rich.

The later category fits the bill for this bottle of wine that was sold at auction for $156,000. Supposedly once owned by Thomas Jefferson (yes, that Thomas Jefferson), controversy rages if the story is true.

Still, that’s one old bottle of wine. Here’s hoping it hasn’t gone bad.







3. “Platinum Passion”

Found at the Duvet Lounge in New York, for around $1,500 you can enjoy a cocktail made with cognac, passion fruit syrup, wildflower honey, sugar, wild berries, lemon juice and brown sugar.

What makes it so special? Apparently, the cognac by itself is $6,000 per bottle and even Napoleon was said to have liked it in the 1800’s.







4. Macallan Fine and Rare 1926

Distilled in 1926 in oak barrels, only 40 bottles of this vintage whiskey were produced at the Macallan Distillery in Scotland.

According to Forbes.com, the price of one bottle is $38,000 and they are incredibly hard to find. But you can taste it at the Old Homestead Steakhouse in the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City for only $3,300 per dram.







5. “Ritz-Paris Sidecar”

Served in the famous Hemingway Bar at the Ritz Carlton in Ritz-Paris, for about $1,670 you can get a glass of Cointreau orange liqueur, lemon juice and 100-years-or-older cognac.

Would Hemingway be able to afford a drink named in the bar after him?







6. Kentucky Derby Mint Julep at Churchill Downs

Mint Juleps have been the official drink of the Kentucky Derby for more than 75 years, so it’s no surprise they offer limited editions in the name of charity.

For $1,000, guests can buy a Traditional Cup, a silver and hand-engraved cup with a horse scene; or for $2,000, they can buy a Prestige Cup, a sterling silver cup plated in 24-karat gold plus diamond-studded horseshoe with 43 diamonds.

That’s a lot for what has been said is “the most exciting two minutes in sports."







7. Wray and Nephew Rum

Sure, you could buy a bottle ordinarily priced at $30 bucks or so, but then you’d be like the all the rest of us unwashed masses.

In 2007, the company produced a bottle of rum made from ingredients that dated back to 1915, making it the oldest rum in the world.

Cost? A mere $50,000. No word on whether the recipe made a bit of difference in taste.







8. Diva Vodka

According it its website, it’s a super-premium diamond-sand-filtered wheat-based vodka enveloping a sparkling, hand-filling wand of Swarovski crystals. Now that’s a mouthful!

Produced by Blackwood Distillers, based in Scotland, the bottle costs anywhere from $3,700 to a staggering one million based on the value of the stones inside.

Why aren’t rap artists shilling for this brand?







9. Vielle Bon Secours Ale

Said to be the World’s Most Expensive Beer, Vielle Bon Secours costs about $1,000 per bottle.

(Puts to shame such beers as Dogfish Head that sell for about $10 for a four-pack.)

Brewed in Belgium, the 12-liter bottle has been stored for 10 years and has been said to have a complex taste with tones of licorice and aniseed. Maybe it tastes like…money.







10. Tequila Ley 925

In 2010, Tequila Ley produced a bottle of tequila worth $3.5 million dollars. It’s not even the liquor that makes it so expensive, but the bottle made of pure platinum with 6,400 diamonds.

A previous bottle, a Platinum and White Gold Liquor Bottle, earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive bottle ever sold. It sold for $225,000 in July 2006.







11. Bentley Sidecar

12. Chocolate Truffle Martini

For those who have a sweet tooth, here is the Chocolate Truffle Martini at Donovan Bar, located in Brown’s Hotel in London.

The drink is made with vodka infused with black Alba truffle, combined with chocolate liqueur and paper-thin truffle slices. For once, this won’t break the bank at $120.







13. Merchant Hotel Mai Tai

There’s nothing like a Mai Tai to evoke the spirit of Hawaii. So it’s a bit odd to find this drink at the Merchant Hotel in Belfast, Ireland.

Made with a blend of lime, culacao liqueur, and a special 17-year old rum (only six bottles were produced), it’ll set you back about $1,480 per glass.

Instead of “Aloha!” it’s “Top ‘o the morning to ya!”







14. “Flawless”

In 2007, the London club Movida created a Christmas cocktail called “Flawless” that combined Louis XII cognac, Cristal Rose champagne, brown sugar, angostura bitters, a few flakes of 24-carat edible gold leaf and an 11-carat white diamond ring on the bottom.

Cost to your wallet? $56,000. Cost to your intelligence? Priceless.







15. “Diamonds Are Forever”

Not to be outdone, in 2010, the Ritz Carlton Tokyo created a “Diamonds Are Forever” martini that blended chilled Grey Goose vodka with a lime twist, poured over a one-carat diamond for only $18,000.

For most of this it's not the ingredients that make it worth so much, it's the gold and diamonds that come with it. I'm sure you can keep the valuables so you can sell them and get some of your money back, but if you're that wealthy you wouldn't have to worry about that.
