Director and Plot Details for I Spit on Your Grave 2!

Back in August we first reported that SAW IV and Chain Letter writer Thomas Fenton would officially tackling I Spit on Your Grave 2 for Cinetel and Anchor Bay.

We’ve just landed exclusive word that Steven R. Monroe, who directed Bay’s 2010 remake of Meir Zarchi’s 1978 cult classic will be returning to the helm.



While Sarah Butler starred in the modern reboot, about a writer who seeks revenge on her attackers after being brutalized and left for dead during her cabin retreat, the sequel will follow in the same footsteps.

We’re told that the sequel's lead is named Holly, a Missouri farm girl who moves to New York in hopes of perusing a modeling career. Looking to update her profile for the big city, she meets three brothers who rape and torture her. They supposedly flee to another country where they bury her alive. She survives, like in the first, and exacts her violent revenge.

Shooting is scheduled to begin this November in Sofia, Bulgaria.

I Spit on Your Grave 2 Arriving This Fall

Anchor Bay Films has once again joined forces with CineTel Films to release the next chapter of the controversial I Spit on Your Grave film franchise. I Spit on Your Grave 2 wrapped production late last year with Steven R. Monroe directing.

The film is expected to be released in fall 2013. Anchor Bay Entertainment President Bill Clark made today’s announcement.



“We had a great experience working with Lisa and Paul at CineTel on the 2010 remake,” commented Kevin Kasha, Executive Vice President, Acquisitions and Co-Productions. “Both the fans and critics alike loved the film and we know that I Spit on Your Grave 2 will deliver.”



“We’re thrilled to continue our association with Anchor Bay for I Spit on Your Grave 2,” noted CineTel Films producer Lisa Hansen.

“Anchor Bay was a true partner in their handling of the 2010 remake. We all knew that the die-hard fan base would be disappointed with anything less than the unrated version…the film had to be real, brutal, and honest. They walked that path lockstep with us and continue to do so as we shape the franchise.”



The sequel stars Jemma Dallender (pictured), presumably as another woman meting out grisly payback for wrongs against her.

A New Image Released from I Spit on Your Grave 2

A new image has been revealed from the fall release I Spit on Your Grave 2, once again directed by Steven R. Monroe.

The sequel is having its world premiere at this year’s Frightfest festival taking place at The EMPIRE cinema in London’s Leicester Square on August 25th. This very special festival cut has been over-seen by the producers specifically for Frightfest 2013 and will be the first time the film will be screened to audiences anywhere.
