I don't have Retro TV
Pavan 10-14-2012, 01:11 PM I don't either, but so what? Was just listing the ones that are available now. And a teaser for a new one coming!
I know This TV shows a small handful of classic shows, but I'd consider it more of a dumping ground for mostly-forgotten MGM movies than anything else.
LUNCH 10-14-2012, 01:37 PM Why is that Bounce channel on that list, they are not a classic TV station.---Anyhow it's good to know there is another classic TV station coming, the more classic tv channels the better.
Pavan 10-14-2012, 05:56 PM ThisTV and Bounce are not technically classic TV, but they do have one or more shows that are classic TV, so they have the opportunity for more.
TVFactFan 10-14-2012, 07:11 PM I don't either, but so what? Was just listing the ones that are available now. And a teaser for a new one coming!
You didn't make it seem like it was a list of the current over the air channels so that;s why I wanted to let you know I didn't have one of the channels
denny 10-14-2012, 08:13 PM My guess is its something to do with Warner Brothers, since they wont let antenna tv or METV have any of their shows.

WOW! :D You are so blessed to be able to get all those. IF we could even one channel like that I wouldn't pay for Dish Network. Hopefully in a few years we can sell our home in the boonies and move to San Antonio and just use an antenna.

I don't have all of them. I just listed what is available. I have all of those except MeTV and Retro TV.

It reported on the radio last week that a lot of people are cancelling cable because of digital TV
boechsner 10-15-2012, 12:49 PM Hmmmmm, could MeToo be going national?
old grouch 10-15-2012, 03:12 PM Hmmmmm, could MeToo be going national?
That would be cool. I hope it's something that can replace RTV, PBJ, and thier sister stations in my area. Those channels are awful.

Can't pick up a single channel OTA here. If I got around 15-20 OTA channels I'd ditch cable now.
robyrob 10-15-2012, 03:28 PM all we get is RTV and THiS tv - which are pretty pathetic
Mr. Television 10-15-2012, 07:22 PM all we get is RTV and THiS tv - which are pretty pathetic
The only shows on RTV I would miss are The Real McCoys and Ozzie & Harriet.
tvfreak1987 10-15-2012, 10:47 PM I think I got it. I just read that NBC was planning to throw their hat into the digital classic TV game. Could that be it?

Read where?

I can't even tell you now, some broadcasting site. All I heard was it was in the planning stages. Purely a guess that this is what Pavan is eluding to.

sorry, my mistake. (sorry abou that Chief!)
BigManMike 10-17-2012, 03:21 PM I'm assuming this may be the new one Pavan is talking about:
http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/489932-Report_NBC_Owned_Stations_Launching_Retro_Subchannel.php
From what this article says is coming, none of the stuff sounds to exciting to me.
treky 10-17-2012, 05:21 PM someone finally got so tired of TV LAND and NICK AT NITE that they decided to do something about it.

Yes and it was long overdue. ten years ago TV Land was all we had for classic TV

Yes, more shows that that will air. Info coming soon.
Get ready to feel all warm and COZI this winter!
I found this info from a Chicago blog called Time Out Chicago about the new COZI-TV subchannel which will begin in Jan. 2013.
COZI TV: NBC going retro on new digital network
NBCUniversal is getting ready to turn the clock back with a new digital subchannel filled with “retro reruns” and old movies. Nothing is official yet, but from the looks of its tentative lineup, it appears to be a pale imitation of Weigel Broadcasting’s Me-TV and Tribune Broadcasting’s Antenna TV. Set to debut January 1 as COZI TV, the new network will be airing in all 10 markets with NBC-owned stations, including NBC 5 here. A working schedule, obtained Tuesday, kicks off mornings with Lassie, followed by Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger, The Virginian, The Adventures of Kit Carson and Alias Smith and Jones. Middays feature Marcus Welby, M.D. and Highway to Heaven. Movies air in afternoons, followed by rotating comedies Burns & Allen, The Lucy Show, Ozzie & Harriet, Red Skelton and Groucho Marx. Prime time includes Charlie’s Angels, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman and Magnum P.I. It’s not known what the new network will replace on NBC 5’s digital tier. Station officials did not respond to calls for comment.
From TimeOutChicago.com's TOC blog by Robert Feder Oct 17, 2012 at 8:00am
According to Wikipedia---so it must be true:lol: ---Cozi will replace the former NBC Nonstop subchannel on Jan. 1 and will initially air in the following markets:
KNBC 4.2 Los Angeles, Cal.
KNTV 11.2 San Jose/San Francisco/Oakland, Cal.
KNSD 39.2 San Diego, Cal.
WRC 4.2 Washington, D.C.
WTVJ 6.2 Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
WMAQ-TV 5.2 Chicago, Ill.
WNBC 4.2 New York, NY
WCAU 10.2 Philadelphia, Pa.
KXAS 5.2 Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas
The lineup doesn't look too bad for starters but I'll know better once the official schedule comes out. Off hand, I'd say it's better than This TV and RTV but nowhere close to Antenna and Me. Has anyone even seen NBC Nonstop and how bad is it really?

Not too excited that Philadelphia is on the list because all those shows are:grr:
oz615 10-18-2012, 01:36 PM GREAT! Another channel that we in the Nashville area won't be getting anytime soon. FML ohno:
BigManMike 10-18-2012, 03:52 PM Doesn't look like I'll be getting this channel in Memphis anytime soon but I don't really care. There's nothing there that I like so far. At least I have Antenna TV and MeTV which are so much better. Especially Antenna TV.

What does that mean? You can watch those shows and eat fish sticks at the same time?
Sounds good to me. Count me in! :)
MRPITT 10-18-2012, 04:08 PM I happen to have all those channels which is great though bounce doesnt have the greatest reception. While nothing on the new channel gets me excited it is better then what is currently on 4.2 hopefully they add some more shows.

Yes so you are good shape

I chose the wrong ICON. I needed a throw up Icon lol
peggyk 10-18-2012, 05:50 PM I wish Uverse would carry at least one of those channels. I live in San Antonio but using an antenna is out of the question due to being down in the valley (sort of). It is nice to hear that there are so many of those channels now.
Pavan 10-18-2012, 06:57 PM We did a story, Sal:
http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2012/10/new-classic-tv-digital-station-cozi-tv.html
VisualSensation 10-19-2012, 04:23 PM I was hoping that Marcus Welby would migrate to MeTV or AntennaTV next year (since that seemed to be what all the former RTV shows were doing), but I guess that will have to wait.
I chose the wrong ICON. I needed a throw up Icon lol
How about this one? I throw up just looking at it!

brtcmfn 10-19-2012, 08:08 PM I found this link on Wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_programs_broadcast_by_Cozi_TV
still prefer Antenna tv and Metv
The questions I have are with only 10 affiliates- will they also offer to other non-NBC providers or this will be an exclusive (NBC-UNIV)- diginet?
As others have mentioned With Antenna TV and Metv taking up the markets- will this only compete in those markets?
Also if it's from NBC-Universal- Shows like The lucy Show are (CBS) and Burns and Allen are (Columbia-Sony)- why would they air shows that are not part of there own library?- Just curious
if I am wrong please correct me :)
Thnx

See our story http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2012/10/new-classic-tv-digital-station-cozi-tv.html
It is only for the owned stations right now.
And the comedies are public domain stuff, like Lucy Show. Mostly everything else is from Universal, except Charlie's Angels and Highway to Heaven.
MrCleveland 10-21-2012, 03:18 PM Well...looks like COZI TV Won't be seen here where I live for a few months.
If anything...it'll be WKYC 3.2, it's now a weather station.
And will ABC make a station like that in the near future, that'd be nice having Disney-pwned shows alongside with some ABC Classic Shows.
denny 10-22-2012, 01:15 PM Looking at the list of shows on Wikipedia, two of them are Warner brother shows, Pavan.
born2late 01-30-2013, 05:22 PM RTV in Nashville is adding it, and dropping the Country Clips channel. They have been running a promo for three weeks about it. :)
