(Ralph & Ed are sitting on the front stoop.)

Ed: "Ralph, it was a dark, dark night for us."

Ralph: "You can say that again. With Derek Jeter going down with that injury, the Yankees can kiss their World Series title hopes goodbye."

Ed: "In the 12th inning, no less. I can only hope that some players can work harder to get that title."

Ralph: "Jeter deserves it too Norton. He needs another title before he retires."

Ed: "38 years old. My how time flies. I remember him when he was in his very early twenties and had a LOT more hair."

Ralph: "That is what getting old does to you Norton. Getting older makes you bigger..."

(Ed looks at Ralph.)

Ralph (yells): "...AND DON'T YOU DARE SAY ANYTHING." (normally): "Lets all hope that the Yankees cage those Tigers. I have a feeling that they WON'T get swept out of this series."

Ed: "Anyway, we can witness history if the Yankees lose."

Ralph: "What history is that?"

Ed: "The first time the Yankees get SWEPT out of the playoffs."

Ralph (yells): "GEEEEEEEEEEET OUT!"

(Jackie Gleason walks on stage. Audience applauds.)

Jackie: "Thank you. Good night everyone."

(Audience cheers.)
