Jeannie accidently gets locked into a crate that's about to be sent to the moon--and they spend the whole season trying to get her out!
I feel that they wasted too much time on this plot line. They could've just made it a 2, or 3-part episode. Any of you agree with me?

...it wasn't a "moon crate", it was a safe. And it wasn't a "whole season", 'dougiezerts'- it was a four-part episode, "Genie, Genie, Who's Got the Genie?" [January 16- February 6, 1968], during the third season. The reason it was in four parts was because the series [and the network] was also promoting a viewer's contest originally held during the course of those episodes, in which viewers were to send their guesses- on a postcard- as to which three-digit combination would free Jeannie from the safe [which Major Nelson did, at the climax of part four]. The first correct answer won a "trip for two around the world", of which the "grand prize winner" was announced at the end of the concluding episode, on February 6, 1968. Of course, these days, it probably WOULD take an entire season to stage that kind of episode....and probably hold a contest, too!

My mistake! I wonder if prints still exist where they announced the winner.
Actually, with email, I think they'd just need to make it a 2-part episode, these days!

I remember when that first aired, I din't get to see all of it because our local NBC affiliate pre-empted a couple of the episodes.
