When I was growing up in the 1970's, I created a story about a failing midwestern television station (KRUM-TV) which turned itself around and became the "TVLand" of its day. Joe Bargain, the owner of KRUM-TV, took a tough stance on his station's programming and refused to air any programs produced after 1975. Mr. Bargain has softened over the last two decades and now refuses to air any programs produced after 1988.
