...gone on for 2+ more seasons, do you think Lifetime would show both Golden Girls and Golden Palace reruns?

When asked about this very subject Lifetime blows it
off as though this show never happened which makes me
very mad! I believe because CBS put GP on friday nights @ 8
is what killed it. The writing was still funny & sharp like GG
& the 3 remaining cast members more then made up for Bea
not being there. No i don't think Lifetime would air the show
back-to-back with GG even if it did run a season or two more.
What i would say to fans of the show like myself is to keep
bothering Lifetime with your e-mails of support for the show!

Even if it went a couple more seasons, I don't think Lifetime would pick up The Golden Palace. They *should* though, because it really is a funny show; it's a lot like Golden Girls. Basically, it's a continuation of Golden Girls, drawing on the same running stories and ideas. I think what killed it must have been the move to Friday nights on CBS. People were used to a certain day and a certain time. And as much as we badger Lifetime to air it now, I really don't think they ever will. It's only 24 episodes and unless you're really, really into, most people don't know about/remember Golden Palace.

Even though Bea was not in the show, it was still funny. I just finished watching some epsidoes. Bea's appearances just make it sweeter that's all. I believe the show could have gone on another copule of seasons. The studio audience was cracking up over the funny plots.

Golden Palace: Blanche's menatlly ******** bro. Tad.

Tad: Can we go see the dolphins? You know flipper on TV? I always wanted to know what it is like to touch him. And Blanche knows a group of dolphins here in Miami....and she's touched EVERY ONE OF THEM!(To Rose) Do you know what a dolphin feels like?

Rose: No, but my room is next Blanche's, so I know what they sound like.

Brad the pool guy.
Blanche: (playfully)Don't run from me Brad, I don't bite.
Brad: Well you did the last time.

Having run only 1 season, I dont' think the show is eligible for syndication, and I doubt we'll ever see it again. It only ran one season, and wasn't too popular.

I'd be interested to see the episodes, but I don't think I'm missing out on much.

Your best bet with the entire GP thing would be to e-mail TV Land. They will begin to air "Tabitha" in November, though it lasted only 13 episodes. And it will be in the "Kitschen," so that would be something that you may want to look in to.

I dunno, I personally like it just as much as Golden Girls, and I think it's an equally funny show. But then again, I watch the show more for Blanche (who is sluttier and funnier than ever before), so I honestly don't notice Dorothy's absence that much--which is why a lot of people think GP was lacking.

Hey all,

I emailed Lifetime sometime in 1999 about them running the 1 and only season of The Golden Palace and they did reply. They wrote that they had received alot of emails about that subject and the reason they won't pick it up (at that time) is because they couldn't find any companies to sponser the show. With all the attention that Golden Girls have received lately, it might be worth the try to start emailing Lifetime again. Maybe they'll try harder to get a sponser.

In my own opinion, The Golden Girls were not the Golden Girls without Bea, and that really hurt GP for me. I thought that the first few episodes were somewhat clever and funny, but later on, it just came to kme that the show wasn't as good without Bea.

They aren't replying back. What kind of station is this???? Don't they care about their viewers? At least Halmark & TV Land sends you a reply saying NO!!!!!

I have written to Lifetime on 3 different occasions about TGG. I have always received a response within two weeks. I imagine that they get a lot of fan mail, especially on shows that change each week (Intimate Portrait, Unsolved Mysteries, etc).

Be patient. Don't knock them too much -- they are the only station still showing TGG.
