View Full Version : Is this doing well on The Hub?

I am very much enjoying watching TFOL on The Hub after not having seen it for YEARS!!! :D I just wanted to know if anyone knew if this is doing well on the network or not? I'm always afraid they will give the show the axe. There was one week in August or September when they had a week or two without TFOL Wednesdays, and I freaked out thinking they had gotten rid of it! I hope it stays put on their schedule!!

The only thing that gets me is the editing. It's so poorly done and it's so obvious when they edit something. Does anyone remember the editing being like this on N@N? I wonder if they came pre-edited? That is my only complaint about The Hub. If they absolutely HAD to edit, they could've made the transitions a bit smoother using music or fading in and out. Sometimes they cut off people mid-line!! :( Is there a reason for editing, like content-wise, or is it just to add more time for commercials?

Anyway, I am SOOO glad one of my all-time favorites is on TV again!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Same here. I was only 3 when the show went off the air, so obviously I couldn't have seen it in its original run. I discovered the show when Nick at Nite started to air it early 2000s.

I think Antenna should also pick up The Jeffersons even though TV One already airs it. I think they should pick it up because they already air All in the Family, Maude, and Good Times. They even air Sanford and Son!! It would be a good fit with all the other Norman Lear sitcoms.

I will be. I always watched on DVR anyways to FF through commercials. Guess Facts hasn't been doing well for The Hub. Seems like they are cutting back on the classic sitcoms & are going in the direction of animated series & family movies. Too bad. I was really liking their line up before where they showed Facts, Family Ties, Happy Days, Mork And Mindy & Laverne & Shirley in prime time. Now all of these shows are on very late at night or in the early morning.

This really blows because now instead of 4 episodes a week of Facts we only get two. I've started recording season 7 onto DVD. At this rate it'll take forever to get to the end of Season 9. I hope the Hub airs Facts at least until they show all of the episodes. I don't think the Hub sucks at least they gave me a few more months with my favorite show airing again & in HD nontheless! I am thankful for The Hub even though they are cutting back on my Facts.

You do have a point there. It did bring the show back after years off the air. I just wish it would've lasted longer. It's not over yet, though. Maybe there's still a chance they will move FOL to a better, more watchable time-slot?! Being optimistic here... ;)

Actually, since I am not a Nielsen family, my DVR recording is more likely to count than me watching live. I don't know how they measure DVR recordings but me watching live wouldn't help the show.

This stinks, why did they take it off the 2 hour block I mean they still have ALF on and as much as I like ALF I am getting tired of it they been through the whole series of ALF a couple times now. FOL hasn't gone through there full series once and just when we get to the seasons that aren't on DVD they do this. It's like we are cursed and we aren't supposed to ever see these last few season ever again. But I shouldn't get to upset they haven't taken the show off yet it's just on really early in the morning which like some others have said is the death slots. Right. I hope, at the very least, that they air all episodes. Just when the show was getting good & into my favorite parts of the series they go & reduce the airings to only two a week. How long has FOL been on The Hub? They had been airing up to 5 episodes a week once & they still haven't shown all episodes yet.

I really do hope they at least finish out the series like some of you have said and then maybe Antenna TV can pick it up?? I think it'd go great with Diff'rent Strokes!! Perhaps The Hub is just giving it a rest though? However, in the past, shows that are moved to that time slot on The Hub tend to not come back. :(

I would love more insight into this in terms of ratings if anyone knows. Was it not doing well for the network that they had to move it? Is ALF really doing that great for the network?

Howdy neighbor! Lol. I hope the Hub will finish out the series. However my provider doesn't carry Antenna TV so I also hope it stays put on The Hub.

I also would love insight on the ratings. The way they are running things you would think Alf is doing amazing in the ratings. I believe it is the last classic sitcom able to survive being on prime time for the network.

I have the series and would be willing to part with them if you have anything to trade the quality of the ioffer ones arent that great.

I would, but I don't really have anything to trade :( All I own right now is the first five seasons of FOL. I don't normally buy shows on DVD lol this is just my favorite one, so I had to.

exactly like me: the only shows i own right now are FOL (seasons 1 to 5) + WONDER YEARS (the complete box set); i am desperately waiting for the remaining seasons of FOL, though & getting impatient......

Now the show is taking a 2 week hiatus on The Hub so it won't be back until February 2nd . What the hell? Even at 1 am they are prempting it? This doesn't look good for the show's future at all. The treatment the show is getting is pretty disappointing. If the show ever leaves The Hub I will never watch anything else on that network.

I forgot to DVR it this past Friday. Did it actually air or did they show a movie instead?

It's not. They're probably bootleg copies.

Really?

Yes but not through SHOUT FACTORY: it was on EBAY (by a private person, not a shop) so it was a copy, but in good condition. The person had it sealed + put in 7 DVD -R.

I wish I knew if the FOL episodes on sites like ioffer.com were good quality. If so, I'd buy them, but I can't for sure know. Plus, part of me is still hoping for the additional seasons to be released at some point. I mean, they're ALL up on Netflix Canada, so I'm not sure why the U.S. can't have them.
