Judith Light Heads to "Dallas"
Oct 8, 2012
by Liz Raftery
Judith Light is heading to "Dallas", TVGuide.com has confirmed.
The veteran TV actress will recur throughout the TNT series' second season, playing "an authoritative and controlling battle-ax who will fight to the death to protect the people she loves," according to TVLine, which first reported the news.
Additional details about the character, including her name, have not been released — but it's possible she could be playing the mother of Alice Ewing (Brenda Strong), who is said to be making an appearance this season.
"Dallas" kicks off its second season in January.

Nobody watches the new Dallas and I'm a big fan of the original.

Someone's obviously watching, it was # 1 among cable shows at one point with an average of 5.3 million viewers and has started production on it's second season.

Didn't the original series have 50 million American viewers at its peak?

It debuted at #1 but by the end of the season had lost almost half their audience! That's pretty bad!

I bet the Who Shot J.R. episode got over a 100 million! Watching Dallas every Friday night on CBS used to be a national event!

I know. I don't like the new series which I can't tell where any of the scenes are due to how it's filmed, there's any excuse for a sex scene which would have made Miss Ellie blush and there's no real story either after 5 weeks apart from someone sent someone an email and will-they-or-won't-they drill on Southfork land..

I enjoyed the first season. I thought the finale was very good. Looking forward to the second season. Larry Hagman should be around more this season. Bring on Abby.

That's why they lost so many viewers after a strong debut! The fact that the Pam/Bobby/Jenna storyline is gone also really hurts the show.

I'm gonna love watching this season. I do miss Larry already. At least he will be in six episodes. I'm loving the fact that Val and Gary will be back as well. Judith Light is coming too? This is some great stuff.
