"The Mindy Project" Gets Full Season
10/08/2012
Fox has handed out a full season order to "The Mindy Project" with nine new episodes.
"'The Mindy Project' has everything we want to stand for in comedy: smart writing, a hugely appealing cast and comedy that feels contemporary and real -- which is why we’re confident it will continue to build on what is already an appointment comedy night for young, influential audiences on Tuesdays," Kevin Reilly, chairman of entertainment at Fox, said in a statement.
The series premiere of Mindy Kaling's "The Mindy Project" had an initial rating of 2.4 in the 18-49 demographic and 4.7 million viewers.
It wasn't exactly a breakout hit but was on par with Fox's Tuesday comedy block. It also premiered early online and on demand.

I'm really happy FOX has faith in both of these shows. They're both really strong, easily the two best new comedies of the season, and the entire Tuesday block is so good right now. Hopefully ratings can build over time although I have a hard time imaging a scenario where both shows come back next year.

Yes and that ending last week was sooooooo unpredictable and funny. The weird guy who interviewed and then he ended up helping Mindy when her nose was bleeding and she goes........"Your hired" LOL
I had not planned on seeing the crazy guy again after he went to the bathroom

Fox Ups "The Mindy Project's" First Season Order to 24 Episodes
10/19/2012
by Michael O'Connell
"The Mindy Project" is getting an extra-large season.
After news of an "X-Factor"-induced preemption for its Oct. 23 outing, Fox has ordered an additional two episodes from the freshman comedy. That brings its first season episode count to 24.
"The Mindy Project" has performed solidly for the network, recently pulling a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49. With Live+7 numbers in for premiere week, its opener jumped 29 percent to a 3.0. (It's still dropping from its "New Girl" lead.)
With another "Mindy" preemption planned for Nov. 6 election night, the extra order of episodes means that there should be fewer encores later in the year.
