I think being on opposite of The Mentalist may hurt its ratings though. 70s show watcher 10-01-2012, 07:55 PM Me too & it has a very good cast. I think being on opposite of The Mentalist may hurt its ratings though.i do too it actully seems more like a friday night show than a sunday night show Retro4Life 10-01-2012, 08:39 PM I watched it, and I thought it had potential. Neat premise, for sure, and yes, the acting was good, particularly O'Quinn (no surprise). I did think it made the mistake that so many modern horror efforts make, that is, showing its hand way too soon. Yes, we all know it's a horror show, but when you have a death/banishment to Hell with special effects in the first few minutes of the show, then another special effects laden death later on, you lose any kind of mystery or building of suspense about what's really going on. And in my opinion, it's less scary to overtly show something like that than to hint at it...we need more shadow and less "booga booga" in your face. The show's ratings weren't too good. There's still time for it to improve and impress, but nowadays a show has to do well out of the box. There's too much competition. I'll keep watching it, because I think there's something good there, if only they'd be a little less obvious and broaden the characters a bit more (which I suspect they'll do). It does make you wonder what they'll come up with next to top it. And I also liked that scene with the elevator doors. Actually, that scene was the scariest in the show for me...and also, the least "supernatural" at least in regard to effects. AB 10-02-2012, 06:45 PM ^ It was pretty scary, now every time I get in an elevator I'll be thinking about it. I've always disliked them, so I think about just about everything that can go wrong, anyway! |
