she would have bought a 1989 car with Cliff?

In the episode when she got her license her and Cliff went to buy a 1962 car:confused: Why did a teenage girl want to be driving such a old looking and outdated car???

It was a car that she wanted. And back then a 1962 car didn't look that old just like if you were to see someone today driving a 1989 Honda Accord, you wouldn't think "Man that's an old car." That 1989 Honda would be just another car on the road. Plus when you're 16 and you have just gotten your license AND if you're not spoiled, any running car that is in decent shape is a great car and you would want it. And Denise wanted the car.

You best believe when my daughter turn 16 she will be driving a 1996-99 car. She's not going to get a newer car that she's going to bang up

1999 yes but not 23 years back. Why couldn't the WEALTHY PARENTS assist her in buying a good used car from 8 years back since she already had $1600 in the bank?

By the time my daughter turns 16, a 1999 car will be 20+ years old. What would be the difference from what Denise ended up with? Denise wanted to buy her own car and it was a car that she liked. Just because you're parents have money, doesn't mean you get a free ride all of the time. You buy your kids something that you don't care if they bang it up and get scratches all on it.

But she did two things to earn it

1. Passed her drivers test

2. saved $1600

Isn't that impressive for a 16 year old??

And? Good for her LOL What part of "She wanted that car" do you not understand? LOL I'm pretty sure that somewhere in this United States there are parents who bought their teenager a 1990 car today.

Passing the drivers test isn't hard LOL

A friend of mine used to say the test was easy and that he is about to get another license just in case he lose the one he has:lol:

I don't think the test in 2012 is like the one on "License to Drive"

Never seen License to drive.

When I took my test I had to answer like 20 questions, all were common sense questions. When it came to my actual driving test, I drove up and down a few streets, made a couple of turns. I had to back up and parallel park. Took all of prob 30 mins from start to finish. If you took Drivers Ed it took you longer to get your license.

I think that car was perfect for Denise. She was the flakey, eccentric, and off-the-wall kid. I could see her wanting a car different from what the "typical" teenager would have wanted.

I guess I was comparing her to 2012 and wanting to ride in a 1982 car as a 16 year old girl

Wouldn't you rather your daughter have a car that is safe, rather than a 20 year old car that could be a lemon?

I didn't do driver's ed but I did everything on my test that you did for yours except parallel park. Heck, I was on the street for less than 15 seconds. LOL. I think I got a 93/100 on mine. I had 20 questions on my learner's permit test. It was fun and exciting for me to do my learner's permit test.

I loved Denise's song about getting her driver's license. "Yeah! Yeah!" LOL.
