"Hannibal" Scoop: "L.A. Complex" Actress Will Bring Her "Wonderfalls" Character to Lecter's Realm

Hannibal may be no match for the likes of a former high school queen from Niagara Falls.
Bryan Fuller, the man behind both NBC’s gruesome mid-season drama and the 2004 Fox cult hit "Wonderfalls", announced Thursday via Twitter that Chelan Simmons would bring her chirpy ‘falls character — Gretchen Speck-Horowitz — to his new project.
“THRILLED to be working again with @ChelanLSimmons and TICKLED her character is crossing over to #Hannibal,” the writer and executive producer tweeted, along with a photo of Simmons.
"Wonderfalls" fans will remember Simmons’ alter ego, who was president of her high school class and a torment to protagonist Jaye (played by Caroline Dhavernas), as the woman who called herself “a Christmas and Easter Jew.”
As the result of a talking rooster encouraging Jaye to “destroy her” (long story), Gretchen decided to end her marriage to a man she didn’t love.
We’ll see what became of Gretchen during the "Hannibal" gig, which is a reunion of a sort.
"Hannibal" is slated to debut at mid-season.
