When they graduated from Eastland rather that contriving an excuse to keep the four main girls and Mrs. Garrett together w/ Edna's Edibles (and subsequently, Over Our Heads). Watching the early Edna's Edibles episodes on the Hub, I'm I the only one who thinks that TFOL kind of lost it's "youth appeal" by forcing a more adult setting (which kind of makes since the girls were getting older after all). They could've brought in some of the girls some Season 1 (e.g. Sue Ann, Cindy, Nancy and Molly) to fill Blair and Jo's spots.

The show just went on for far too long. Most shows lose their appeal once the characters move beyond their high school years. Until the dawn of shows such as "Friends" and "Melrose Place" there was little interest in shows based around characters in their twenties.

In my opinion they should have spun Lisa Whelchel off on her own years before they were planning on doing so. I think the idea to base a FOL: The New Class type show around Lisa was a solid idea but unfortunately they waited far too long to pull it off and by then I think public had basically had their fill of the show.

Likewise I think Nancy McKeon could've easily transitioned into some of the more dramatic nighttime eighties fare such as "Dallas", "Dynasty", "LA LAW" or "St. Elsewhere". I really think Nancy outgrew FOL very quickly and to me just never seemed a fit for a show aimed at teenagers.

Does anyone remember the first couple of episodes in Season 9? Jo had moved out for the moment, and Blair came to visit her (not exactly that, but it's a long story).

And the way those two just had this ultra-connection, flinging their lines at each other, etc, don't know how to describe it. But one commenter on that video said that Jo and Blair should have had their own spinoff based on that scene. I kinda agree. Even now, maybe, not such a bad idea.

I'm sorry, I just really want to see these girls acting in a more major fashion. I'm pretty desperate for it to happen

I loved Blair as a law student. I wish they had put Jo through law school too and then spun them off in a show where often take opposites sides in trials. For example, I can see Jo representing a company peon whistle-blower vs the big business who fired him represented by Blair.

IMO, this is a great idea. It would have been much better than FOL itself. The idea of Blair being a Republican lawyer and Jo a Democrat lawyer is also very good.

I like the idea of a co-ed Eastland better.

if they were going to spinoff blair and jo i would have liked it if when blair bought eastland if it included jo working at the school as well being either a teacher or a guidance counselor.

No. That's like having the Friends cast get cut in half to 3 instead of the usual 6. It'll just feel like something is missing......
