On Amazon, Here Comes The Brides Season 1 is selling at $200.00!! And its on Ebay for almost $1000.00 Shout! released season 2 this past year, which goes for around 25.00. I guess season 1 is OOP. Wouldn't it make sense for Shout! to re-release season 1 so the whole series is available, at an affordable price?

I bought my S1 set from Amazon back in 2009 for $14.99 when they were clearing out alot of unsold SONY titles. I should have bought ten copies and re-sold them for a profit had I known it was going to appreciate in value so quickly!!

it only has that value if someone is actually stupid enough to buy it at that price.

OOP stinks especially when you see the price cheap. Not as steep of a price jump, but Quark (also from Sony) is OOP and I waited to long to get it. Amazon had it for $10 at one point and I said I don't want to pay that much. 6 months later it goes out of print and I ended up buying it used for $20. Right now it's new for $60 which is no where near as bad as HCTB, but still.

I picked up Tabitha a couple of week ago in fear that it will also go OOP. I wonder if sony will end up rereleasing HCTB as a MOD.

I'm a big fan of Here Come The Brides but even I wouldn't pay that kind of money for one season of it.

I regret not buying the first season when I saw it for under $20.00. Thinking that the 2nd season
would never be released.

Hopefully Shout will re-release season 1 on DVD.

No they wouldn't release something as MOD that's already been previously released. I still think the best thing would be for SHOUT! Factory to re-release it in a uniform case to match season 2. But that would take :ahem: Sony's cooperation!

I don't know, I think it's possible. Warner Archive is releasing some MOD movies that they had previously released that had gone out of print. TV might be different, but anything can happen.

Why wouldn't anyone who wanted it have picked it up when it came out?

Millcreek has recently acquired the rights to a lot of Sony properties. They are going to re-lease Bewitched, Charlie's Angels, Married with Children and Good Times next month so maybe (hopefully) they will re-release HCTB in the future.

I hope Mill Creek re-releases HCTB season 1 and 2. The prices on Amazon & EBAY are ridiculous.

I was never aware of this show until Shout released season 2 by then season 1 was out of print and selling in the hundreds of dollars by money-hungry sellers.

Just checked Amazon.

HCTB Season 1 is now $300.00 new from 10 sellers and $148.50 used.
And I thought $200.00 from Amazon and $1000 from Ebay quoted by
the original poster was bad! This is even worse. It's downright insane
and utterly ridiculous.

I have both seasons on DVD from Sony and Shout, and paid roughly
between $30 and $40 for each of them when they were first released.

Always buy this stuff at the sale price and never at full retail price
unless you absolutely positively have to and have no other alternative.

I learned this the hard way with the original Star Trek series from
Columbia House; 2 years by subscription at $19 plus shipping per
tape for VHS. Poor quality film prints from Paramount and the
cheapest videotape they could find. Nearly $1000 spent for
nothing.

When I bought the remastered DVD set of all 79 episodes/
3 seasons in 2009 from Paramount, I got it from Critic's
Choice Video/DVD for $130 on sale. SRP: $299.00.
To me after Columbia House, it was well worth it.
I donated the VHS tapes to the Salvation Army.
They were not worth selling. I made up my mind
after that I was not spending that much money
for a TV show ever again regardless of what it was.

The only time I ever paid full retail price besides that
was for Have Gun--Will Travel (50's, Richard Boone)
Seasons 1-3 from CBS-Paramount, and that was
just because Critic's Choice did not have it on sale
at the time. Paid $50 each. Eventually they released
Seasons 4-6 (2 volumes apiece) and I paid less than
$35 for those. Now I have all 6 seasons.

I would not sell my commercial classic TV show DVD sets
for anything. They have sentimental value to me.

As for Quark from Sony, I too missed paying $10 for it
when it was released in 2008. It is now being sold for
an astronomical starting at $58 on Amazon all the way
up to the $200 range. And for only a mere 8 episodes!
I settled for whatever copy of the show I could get.

Pay full price for a TV show on DVD? Never ever again!

And that is my past experience. Thanks for listening.
