View Full Version : If Chris Rock is discussing a certain year of his life, why is his age different?
TVFactFan 09-08-2012, 05:03 PM For example he is discussing 1985 and has himself on the show attending Junior High school which is not accurate because in 1985 he was 20 years old:crazy:
So why didn't he discuss the years and match his real age which would have been 1977 or 1978 if he was in Junior Highschool? So that means this show was a ONGOING LIE and should have never been aired.
*ROGER* 09-08-2012, 05:21 PM He should have been a high school graduate in 1982 or 1983. I wonder why the innacuacy.

Yes, he is 47 now and is portraying himself as a kid in the 80???

I always thought about his age when I was watching Everybody Hates Chris. I was thinking that either this guy got left back a bunch of times, or he was fibbing about his age.

I won't watch another second of this inaccurate show
Jaqui-Michel 09-08-2012, 06:55 PM I think when this show first came out the words used to describe the show's premise was that it was "loosely based" or "inspired" by Rock's teen years. I guess it's considered semi-autobiographic.

Which means it should have been from 1976 to 1980

It is very innacurate because the show is always flashing dates (years) of a particular time in Chris' life that doesn't add up due to his age. Chris is 47 and they made him out to be in junior high school in the mid 1980s.
I am only 40 and I graduated high school in 1989. So Everybody Hates Chris makes no sense in terms of accuracy. I don't understand why he would want to portray himself as younger than what he really is.

And the boy who played Chris should have looked more like him and been dark skinned:lol:

The actor kid's complexion was medium. Chris is a lot darker. Another inaccuacy.

It was silly with Todd Bridges playing that military kook who worked at the corner store with Chris. But I did sorta like seeing Earnest Thomas playing Mr. Omar, but overall, the show was kinda dopey.

It's always on BET, too. It was just on this afternoon...two episodes...
1. Chris hates his substitute teacher. 2. Chris becomes a D.J.
I liked the older episodes better when Chris has crushes on Kiesha and Tasha. I also like Chris' friend Greg...can't stand the fat, red-headed kid, Joey Caruso. And Chris' teacher Ms. Morello is so over-the-top. Nobody would act like that in real life.

The teacher's line in the episode when Chris was a hall monitor
"First everyone hated you because you were black now they hate you because you are being a jerk"

*ROGER* 09-08-2012, 09:12 PM Joey Caruso: "I don't hate black people. I think Gary Coleman is hilarious."
