retrofan05 09-07-2012, 12:43 PM Wow! I did not see this coming. I'm excited to see The Nanny back in primetime. I haven't had the opportunity to watch it since both Nick at Nite and TV Land moved it to late nights. Full House at 8 PM is definitely a surprise as well.
mets82 09-07-2012, 02:05 PM Nice to see something other than Friends on the schedule. I like the show and all but its been done to death since its been on Nick at Nite. Hopefully, this schedule sticks for a while instead of being changed again.
yankeesrj12 09-07-2012, 02:15 PM That's actually a very solid schedule.
I'm glad they left Friends right where I love having it! :)
TVFactFan 09-07-2012, 07:50 PM Why would Nick@Nite bring back Family Matters to air the show at 5am?
WHo the hell is going to watch it?
Well, it looks like this will be my eleventh or twelfth consecutive season of not watching Nick at Nite. ;)
Seriously, I think the service really needs to invent itself. How about adding some dramas? ER, for example, isn't being shown anywhere. It'd be a great addition to the 10 pm timeslot.

ER would be more suited for a channel that airs dramas like TNT or INSP

While I enjoy some of the programming on Nick at Nite's fall schedule, I honestly don't understand why Nick at Nite still exists and why they haven't just made Nickelodeon a 24/7 network (or at least extended it to 10 PM). The forumula is so tired and the schedule is essentially no different than TV Land. Disney (a 24/7 network) is beating Nickelodeon in the ratings, and it seems to me that Nick might actually stand a chance in beating Disney, if they aired their children's programming in primetime where it could actually compete with Disney.

One thing about N@N is if they get a Hit show, they stick with it for a decade:lol:
Tubehead 09-08-2012, 11:44 AM Imglade family matteris back on it my grandpapas favorite shows. i also like that ful house is bacon im glade they got ride of thats 70 showi t come on al the time on abc family. i wish they would get rid of friends

Buffyboy323 09-08-2012, 11:59 AM That's actually a very solid schedule.
I'm glad they left Friends right where I love having it! :)
I think this schedule is as decent as Nick at Nite can get with the shows they currently have the rights to. I don't watch Friends too much on there, but knowing it's a big hit for them makes me happy. I loved the show growing up. It's a very balanced lineup. Every show (except Family Matters) gets at least two episodes a night.
I'm glad Full House and Family Matters are back on Nick at Nite! I loved these shows as a kid and think it's great that a whole new generation can discover them. I wish they would air Full House at 8:00pm and Family Matters at 8:30pm though.
Christopherallen 09-08-2012, 12:27 PM @Tubehead I think for sure they should put mama's family on their to and maby save by the bell as well but definitely mama's family

2 episodes that no one will see at 5am and 5:30am:lol:
BigManMike 09-08-2012, 03:04 PM I wish they would put Family Matters on at a better time, and I hate this stupid off the clock programming. I wish they would stop doing that.
What kind of ratings does Nick at Nite get these days? Obviously decent enough to keep going the way they have been. Still, it seems like they've been on autopilot for several years now.

Friends usually pulls a 0.5-0.6 demo, which is pretty good and similar to the airings on TBS.
To put it somewhat in perspective, the soap/drama Nick at Nite was airing (Hollywood Heights) usually only had a 0.1 demo.
TVFactFan 09-08-2012, 05:12 PM Wonder what kind of ratings George Lopez is pulling
yankeesrj12 09-08-2012, 05:53 PM Wonder what kind of ratings George Lopez is pulling
Friday, August 17th
1100 - Friends - 1.353 million viewers, 0.5 demo
1130 - Friends - 1.524 million viewers, 0.6 demo
1200 - Friends - 1.516 million viewers, 0.6 demo
1230 - Friends - 1.414 million viewers, 0.6 demo
100 - George Lopez - 1.069 million viewers, 0.4 demo
An airing of George Lopez the week before put up similar numbers, so it's also doing well.
Compared to Yes, Dear (approx. 850 viewers, 0.3 demo) they are solid numbers.
In July, The Nanny had 800,000 viewers and a 0.3 demo at 3am, which is also pretty good.

So it looks like George Lopez is the 2nd highest rated show on N@N
mets82 09-08-2012, 09:26 PM Where do you find the ratings for the shows?
Pavan 09-08-2012, 09:36 PM So it looks like George Lopez is the 2nd highest rated show on N@N
During its height, Lopez was the highest rated series in Nick at Nite history. It's been on for four years already and they just renewed it.

Are you sure about 4 years? I think I discovered the show on N@N in 2006
Madness 09-08-2012, 10:34 PM I'm surprised they haven't tried Yes, Dear on TV Land yet instead of airing at 4am...seems like it would fit better with the other former CBS sitcoms (Everybody Loves Raymond and the King of Queens) already airing later at night over there.

5 years I meant, 2007.

It's been on CMT. They are trying it there. Seems like it is working.

And some of the time they BEAT CW originals.

Thanks! I guess if it's not broken, Viacom won't want to fix it. Still, Nick at Nite has felt stale and uninspired to me for the better part of a decade, like they're running on fumes.
Up until the early 2000s, it seemed like a unique channel with a unique "voice."
And some of the time they BEAT CW originals.
Wow, The CW still exists. ;)
Seriously, though, we don't even have a full-powered CW affiliate here. What we have is a standard-definition "CW+" subchannel carried on our CBS affiliate's DT2. I know many other small markets have similar situations, which in part accounts for the netlet's dismal ratings.
My wife likes Top Model, but she waits and watches it the next day on Hulu Plus so she can see it in HD.

Beautiful annoucement, now the 1am slot is loaded with
The Office-local
Seinfeld-local
George Lopez
