I was taking a quiz on FunTrivia.com and I discovered that John Mahoney was on the movie Moonstruck with Cher. He said his role in the movie got him noticed and that is how he got the role on Frasier. Cool, huh? :)
You learn something new everyday. :D

Really? That's strange. I always liked him in Eight Men Out (definitely one of the best baseball films). That role is much closer to Martin than his part in Moonstruck. Also he played Bruce Willis' cop dad in Striking Distance, but that didn't even come out until after Frasier was already airing.

Interesting. I knew he was in Moonstruck but I'll always remember his amazing performance in "Say Anything" (a movie that takes place in Seattle... go figure!)! I forgot about him being in "Eight Men Out". I haven't watched that movie in a long time and I'll see if I can find Striking Distance as well. Funny that he played a cop in that!

He was also the judge in the movie Suspect with Cher and Dennis Quaid.

That's a GOOD movie!! If you haven't seen it, rent it.

Striking Distance is a supremely underrated film. Being a Pittsburgh native, it's probably the most accurate portrayal of the city I've ever seen in a fictional movie. That's probably why everyone disliked it LOL. But John Mahoney's role is rather small, albeit pretty important to the plot. Realize it was made back when everything Bruce Willis touched turned to gold. I definitely recommend it.

Thanks for the review! I'm definitely going to see if I can find this movie and believe me, I have seen movies with DHP in them even if he only has a five second appearance so I don't mind seeing John Mahoney in a small role.

Cool! I didn't know that he was in Suspect. Another movie I'm planning on watching. I think I might have seen it a long time ago, but it would be fun seeing it again now that I know that John Mahoney is in it.

Always liked The American President. John's got a small, but solid role in that too.
