Breaking news: Bob Denver is still dead

It's not politics, but ...

Today, the Twitterverse was all atwitter about the death of Bob Denver, aka Gilligan, Maynard G. Krebs.

Problem — Bob Denver died in 2005.

Folks were tweeting old New York Times articles, and old AP stories but apparently never bothered to read the time stamp.

And we're not the only ones to notice the trend.

Obviously those twits on twitter weren't big fans of Bob or his work or else they would have known that he died several years ago. :rolleyes:

I couldn't believe it when someone on my facebook posted this as if it was new! All of the comments underneath it said things like, "Um, actually he died in 2005."

Poor Bob. I wish he hadn't died at all. But maybe this will bring GI back into the forefront of people's minds, where it should be!
