The Dick York phenomenom is kind of like real life. How many times have you seen some of the ugliest worst type guys with hot chicks? The uglier they are it seems the better looking the girl they have. Dames, who can figger them?

So true, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

And let us not forget. You can lead a horse to water, but a pencil must be lead.

There's more to attraction than just good looks. It's usually a combination of personality, compatibility, sense of humor plus many other qualities. Then again there can be an instant spark between two people that just can't be explained. Darrin & Samantha seemed to have that instant spark.

I thought that Dick York was fairly attractive and had a charming smile. Liz was a pretty, bright woman. They seemed to go well together.

Dick york was not model handsome, but I think he was a good looking guy. He had normal people looks - like someone you'd really know. He had a very 1950s look about him. Elizabeth stated that Darrin not looking a male model was exactly the point - Samantha fell in love with the man, not his appearance. Dick Sargent was normal average looking guy too. It was how the part of Darrin was envisioned.
