Just read an interesting, updated FAQ on Lisa's website - http://www.lisawhelchel.com/showbiz/faq

Do you plan to do any more acting in the future?

I left show business after I had three children within three years to be a stay-at-home wife and mother. I loved acting and I’m grateful for all the opportunities I had but nothing came close to the joy of being a mother. Although, I’ve learned to never say never. I didn’t plan on writing books, either. Now that my children are grown, I’ve decided to throw my acting hat back in the ring and go another round in Hollywood. It’ll be fun to see what happens.

Has anyone heard of any Lisa sightings out there in the television world? I'm sure Survivor will help show her talents somewhat, but I wonder where she will go next. Hopefully she will land a recurring role... Especially since she's off the speaking circuit now, she will have the time to do it!

Looking forward to seeing her back on television...

Maybe this is the beginning of seeing her more.

O Lisa, take Nancy with you. Have a show about Blair and Jo all grown up and living as neighbours and fighting all the time...pretty please?

This is probably too much to hope for, but what about a "Facts of Life" remake with Lisa in the Mrs. Garrett role? It could be similar to what they were trying to do at the end of season 9, but I'd rather the plot were more along the lines of the original show. Also, in 2012, Lisa is much closer to the age Mrs. Garrett was in the original run.

I doubt Lisa would do something like that. Given her devotion to Christianity, and the way television and media show "adult" themes in shows geared toward teens, odds are it would not be her thing.

I think Lisa would be great in another comedic role - something where she's part of an ensemble cast. Or bring her to a guest role in one of the new TV Land sitcoms and let her get her feet wet again.
