Stumbled across "Ralph's Rival" on Antenna TV and I no longer want to see this episode since it's the only one without a TAG scene. And it's no way I can ever see it since I have no ABC ep and it's not on the DVD

So it's best that I put this ep out of my mind forever since it will always be "incomplete" and cause me to become annoyed. Damm shame:lol:

The TAG scene is the scene that comes after the episode is over and it's like 90 seconds. All the TC eps on the season 4 DVD had the TAG scene except for Ralph's Rival and was confirmed a few months ago that the TAG scene never made it to DVD

The TAG scenes often featured the three kids sitting on the couch talking about the recent events and Jack would make a joke or grope the girls and they would get mad or throw pillows at him, etc. and that would be the end of the show.

Yeah that's been a mystery ever since the DVD was released. That is the only episode out of all the TC eps on DVD from seasons 1 to 8 that does not have a Tag scene

Janet & Chrisssy are sitting at the kitchen table eating bread and peanut butter (Janet is eating Bread and Chrissy is eating and spreading Peanut Butter on a slice of bread)

Chrissy: I dont like Pink I am so tired of Pink

Janet : Why Not?

Jack Walks in with a brown paper bag full of groceries and sets it on the counter.

Janet : Hi Jack! (muffled a bit with a mouth full of Peanut Butter Bread)

Jack : Well? (Annoyed tone)

Janet : Well What?

Jack : Did Furley Get us a Plumber?

Chrissy: Yeah He Did Jack

Jack : A Real Plumber?

Janet : Yes, A Real Licensed Plumber

Jack : Fantasatic! I cant wait to see a Garbage Disposal That Works Properly (As he is walking towards the sink)

Jack Turns on the Garbage Disposal and Water Shoots all over his face (just like it dis earlier in the episode)

Janet : Ah You (as water is sprayin everywhere)

Jack : I thought you said he got us a real plumber?

Chrissy: Well he did but said he would be here tomorrow morning.

Jack Shakes his head and water flys all over the place as Janet and Chrissy runs around to the other side of the table.

Nope, it's supposed to be on the DVD but it's only at the UCLA Musuem of Film and TV. For some reason it wasn't included with the episode on DVD

I was told by Mark Quigley the Manager of the Research & Study Center at the UCLA Film & Television Archive that the copy on hand came from the 3/4 U-Matic Master Tape and had been in storage for Years. Not sure if maybe that is the reason its not on DVD.

But why would all the other season 4 eps have the Tags? It's still very confusing why that one episode was missing a 36 second tag scene

I meant that maybe they couldnt locate the master for that one episode because the Master was locked in storage and no one knew where to find it. So they used a different copy for the DVD.

Yeah, they could've used the same source they got the episode from to get the TAG scene!

I wonder if they cut the tag scene in 1980 when they reran it on ABC and that's the version we got on the DVD. I know they used to edit episodes sometimes when they reran them later on.
