I learned how to swim under water before I learned to swim above water. To this day, I prefer to swim under water. I took swimming lessons all the time as a kid. I don't really swim that much anymore but I still can. Nowadays when I'm in the water it is usually to wakeboard, in which case I'm wearing a life preserver.
