Off the top of my head, so not necessarily my top five, but five contenders:

1) Oliver, The Brady Bunch
2) Cindy, Three's Company
3) Lana, Three's Company
4) Walden, Two and a Half Men
5) Zoey, Two and a Half Men

I didn't include Lana since she was only on there for like 7 eps and they were able to see she was a bad addition early on:lol:

Why is Jefferson a bad character additon? I like the ones with him better than Steve.

Why do you say that? I think Jefferson and Al seemed to be a better fit. I always got that "I'm better than you" attitude from Steve.

That's what made their interaction better, Steve felt he was better than Al and made fun of his life and al did the same to him

jefferson ended up growing on me but I still prefer steve because he was the opposite of AL which was geeky

So what was wrong with Steve?

Nothing was really wrong with Steve. He was okay, I just liked Jefferson better. A lot of people have said that when Jefferson started on the show, the show went downhill. I think they had some of their best episodes with Jefferson.

My list really isn't about who was the worse but more so unecessarary or didn't add anything great.

Pam Tucker: The Cosby Show
April Rush: Too Close For Comfort
Cassie: Matlock (I wish she'd done more on the show and liked seeing her on the show. However, she only seemed interesting her first episode when she was a guest star)
Penny and Ivy: Step by Step (Mother and daughter duo who were not missed much but they were good and funny enough that they should jave just had their own spinoff).
Seven Bundy: Married With Children (Adorable kid and I liked seeing him on the show but how far could the show go with him?)

Rose Tyler: Doctor Who

Dr. Crichton: Buck Rogers (The second season was FUBAR, except for a few episodes)

Joey: Gimme a Break

Alison Sugarbaker: Designing Women (I like Julia Duffy, but after so many years as Stephanie on Newhart, she basically was Stephanie with a better wardrobe on DW and didn't have any chemistry with the rest of the ladies)

Seven: Married With Children

In no order:

1). Sam and Maggie - Diff'rent Strokes
got even worse when Mary Ann Mobley replaced Dixie as Maggie.
2). Alex - One Day at a Time
Too feminine-acting and he grated on me too often.
3). Cousin Oliver - The Brady Bunch
a reason why he's the poster child for what happens when a show decides to add a new kid or cute kid onto a show.
4). Ricky - The Partridge Family
cannot sing worth a lick and he's the Cousin Oliver of this show.
5). Olivia - The Cosby Show
Ok, admittingly in her 1st few eps. I can tolerate her but after that, good luck. Not as bad as the other 4 but still...

Others I also considered:
1). Cousin Pam - The Cosby Show
as if Olivia asn't bad enough, Pam made matters worse for TCS.
2). Randy - That '70s Show
the 8th season wouldn't have been so bad if they didn't add this toolbox into the cast. And the way he made out w/ Donna in Eric's old room just added to his lameness.
3). Beau DeLabarre - Welcome Back Kotter
him trying to "be" a Sweathog just doesn't look right and if Vinnie has to ask you "Who's this clown?" you know you're a lame and Beau was lame.
4). Walden and Zoe - Two and a Half Men
Walden was grating my nerves in his 1st few eps., especially with the way they have ending some of his eps. with him naked and what not. Eventually they tamed his character somewhat and made him respectable to a degree. But once Zoe came along, good night!
5). all of the new characters in Season 5 - 227
Dylan was already a guest star before the final season and I'll give a slight pass, but the rest of the new characters in the last season of 227 was boring and or just did nothing for the show.

Seven-Married With Children
Oliver-The Brady Bunch
Chachi-Happy Days
Stephanie-All in the Family
Warren-The Andy Griffith Show

Seven and Oliver are examples of a certain TV cliche: the show's kids grow up and they bring in younger ones.

I see nothing wrong with Joey on GAB

He actually makes the show watchable
