For me, it's THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW & McHALES NAVY. duckie 08-28-2012, 08:22 AM Just about every show I like, I started watching them after they were old and in reruns. lol Regulus 08-28-2012, 09:46 AM I was introduced to many of my favorites through reruns. Since I began collecting DVDs I also discovered many new favorites in that matter as well. :D Coffeecup 08-28-2012, 05:16 PM I would like to see a few more 1950 or 1960's shows for half of them I wasn't old enough or born yet to see them the first time. Sal 08-28-2012, 08:54 PM In the late 80s and early 90s, I discovered many great classic shows through a local channel called CKVR-TV located in Barrie, Ont. just north of Toronto. They had been an affiliate of CBC since the early 50s but they then became an independent station that specialized in classic TV series. In fact, they used Classic Television as their slogan for a few years and for that (sadly) short period, there was nobody better. Their morning block would begin with "I Love Lucy" at 11:00 am immediately followed by "Andy Griffith" and "Leave It To Beaver", a CKVR noontime staple for more than 30 years. Needless to say, I was hooked. Throughout the day, CKVR would show other classics and I quickly became a fan of the older 50s and 60s shows which I have carried on proudly to this day. Some of the classics they would have included "Gilligan's Island", "Star Trek", "Bonanza", "Twilight Zone", "Outer Limits", "Car 54", "McHale's Navy", "Dick Van Dyke", "Green Acres", "Beverly Hillbillies", "The Munsters" and many more. Pretty much any show made before 1964, I've had to watch as a rerun. Discovering "I Love Lucy" as a rerun was probably my favorite. UMFaninMD 08-29-2012, 06:29 PM Laugh-In & The Mary Tyler Moore show, back when they aired on Nick at Nite. Barnaby Jones, and The Streets of San Francisco, when they aired on WWOR. (Man, that was a great station.) Hart to Hart, not sure what station used to air the reruns, I want to say TBS. What's Happening!!! Classic Doctor Who, PBS used to air them every Saturday night at midnight. The original The Tomorrow People, from Nickelodeon Night Gallery & The Twilight Zone, when the Sci-Fi Channel actually aired classic horror shows & movies.
