No one really knowing what Chandler did for work was a joke that dated back to vintage sitcoms.

Wasnt there a joke that Chandler said that he was working on the WENUS? Do you remember that? It was mentioned in season 1. In the very, early episodes, Chandler was working in a cubicle and then he got his own office in Season 1. I know he had to move to Tulsa in the later episodes and remember he had to come up with a slogan or something for shoes that were horrible.
