Maybe someone who's read the book can help me understand what the issue was for Joyce DeWitt and her refusal to work without wearing panty hose? Was it modesty? Insecurity about her (awesome) legs? I understand things were different in the 70's, but it was known as a T&A show... but legs needed to be covered?
By the way, I love Joyce and I'm not knocking her choice. I'm sure she has good reasons - I was just curious. Thanks!

They talk about it in the book. She was very insecure about her legs. I thought she looked great in pantyhose whenever she wore dresses, but she looked silly whenever she wore them to bed in her pajamas.

Thanks for the reply. That's too bad that Joyce was insecure about her legs. I'd take that body any day! She was kind of like the original Kardashian as far as look and body type. So ahead of her time.

Yeah, Janet is consistently the hottest on the show.
