View Full Version : Will Mike & Molly's Marriage be a Shark Jump? howilu 08-24-2012, 10:26 AM Now that Mike & Molly got married in the season finale? Will the show jump the shark? Feel free to post your thoughts. Mr. Television 08-24-2012, 11:06 AM I don't think so. The shows that JTS are usually when the leads aren't a couple from the start. That's not the case with Mike & Molly. Mike's even been living with Molly for at least a year so that's not an issue either. They need to make sure that the ensemble doesn't get lost in all this though because I think they're great but I don't think they will. I'm looking forward to the new season. :) ShamelessFanGirl 08-24-2012, 12:00 PM That is a good question. I do believe with having the marriage happen so quickly in the series that it is possible they may have jumped the shark. Perhaps if the writers of the show would have had things develop with the two main characters things would have been better. Instead of having at the each season have where a big event happened, leaving the show on a cliffhanger but have for the first two seasons focus on their relationship and then in Season 3 have where Mike was thinking of popping the question to Molly and then in Season 4 having it where they focused on making preparations for the the wedding and then have them get married at the end of the season. Just my thoughts. yankeesrj12 08-24-2012, 12:30 PM Eh, I don't think so. I mean, we knew they would have to get married. I'm guessing this year is dealing with the aftermath of the wedding, which takes up a season. Perhaps after that, the next step is children and that could be a two year storyline. There are a lot of possibilities to explore with this funny comedy. Yong Fang 08-29-2012, 12:17 PM This show is a close second for favorite current sitcom just behind Parks and Recreation. What makes Mike and Molly work (as well as Parks) is that it is an ensamble show and every character is funny as ****. Everyone. This show has a lot of heart (like Parks). Even the sexual risque humor, which I usually disdain a bit is good. This show will last as long as the ensamble stays together, and the writers stay together. Fortunately for us fans of the series, if the writing stays good, I do not think any of the actors will leave, because (and I say this respectfully) all of them are either (or and) overweight, older, or unknown. Uh, basically like real people! Chocolate Moose 09-14-2012, 01:43 PM doutful, they're already living together. |
