I have had a lot of time to watch the reruns this summer while working my way back from some health issues. It’s kinda nice to join old friends (Sam, Diane, Coach, Norm etc.) again to help cheer me up. Earlier in the week I decided to do a little research on the show and I ran across this message board.

I just finished selectively reading through threads dating back to the beginning of this board. There are so many interesting Cheers related facts here. I was also reminded of things that I already knew but had forgotten for some reason.

I also noticed that a lot of the participants on the board (at least early on) were younger people who had not seen the show when it originally aired. I’m not one of those folks. I saw a large percentage of the shows when they first aired. I remember watching them with my parents and sharing laughs with them. I hope the younger folks still enjoy the show. I’d like to think it will continue to be popular in reruns.

I see that there are people from all over the world that love the show. That’s fantastic. I thought the appeal might have been limited but that’s certainly not the case. I also saw posts by someone claiming to be Shelley Longs daughter. If true, that is indeed cool! I wonder if anyone else with ties to the show post here or posted here in the beginning?

I probably wont post a lot on the board because I’m more of an observer on these things but I hope the board does become more active. However, I think most everything has been covered at least once. I hope I’m wrong.
