Marvo301 10-22-2012, 01:36 PM According to the theme song they were "identical" so how can one be prettier than the other?!? (not to mention they were both played by the same actress!!) bliss 11-28-2012, 02:05 AM According to the theme song they were "identical" so how can one be prettier than the other?!? I got the thread idea from the visiting Aunt episode from Season 1  bliss 11-28-2012, 02:08 AM Not to be mean, but both havent aged well. They look older than they actually are. I know what you mean. I've seen those Social Security commercials with the cousins. Maybe it's the heavy makeup, youthful clothes, funky hair, and trendy glasses that make the "Patty" character appealing lookwise. Cath had the wet flat hair, no makeup, wire rim glasses, old lady pearls, and the super conservative clothes. Cathy_Lane 11-28-2012, 02:35 AM Patty was probably the one who appealed more to others. I was terribly shy, and didn't make friends easily. Patty's zest for life was part of her appeal to others. She may have driven us crazy, but she very much threw herself wholeheartedly into everything she did...and in it's own way, it was admirable, if not always advisable. She also cared very much for her family and friends, even if her own self-interests got in the way temporarily. I can't honestly judge myself, but Patty has said that what I had going for me was that I knew who I was, and that I seldom let others influence me to be what I wasn't (sometimes I did, and those attempts didn't always end well!) I knew what I could do and what I couldn't. In retrospect, Patty has said that there were times that she wished that she had listened to me after one of her pie-in-the-sky ideas blew up in her face (after all this time, I've picked up some of Patty's colloquialisms!). Ross and Uncle Martin said that I am kind and that I think of others needs before my own (that isn't ALWAYS true...) and Aunt Natalie said that I was very smart, and would apply myself. bliss 11-28-2012, 02:42 AM Patty was probably the one who appealed more to others. You did keep Patty grounded and bailed her out time & time again from her wacky schemes. But was reduced when y'all moved to the new house ;) |
