"Live! with Kelly" Co-Host to be Named on Sept. 4 — Who Should Get the Job?

Kelly Ripa's new co-host will make his or her debut on Tuesday, Sept. 4, ABC has announced.

Ripa, who's been hosting "Live! with Kelly" without a permanent co-host since Regis Philbin's departure in November, will kick off a brand new season on Monday, Sept. 3.

The broadcast will mark Ripa's first time hosting solo. She'll be joined by her new partner the following day, when the pair will welcome guests Claire Danes and "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips.

...all Kelly needs is someone as "goofy" as her to trade light banter with, and "dumb down" enough to interplay with her guests, help conduct the various contests, et. al. I believe a seal would be just as perfect a "co-host" for her as, say, a cardboard cut-out of Bob Hope (of course, ABC/Disney would have to negotiate a hefty fee with Hope's estate for the right to use his image).

I like her and I agree... in a different way of course!:lol: She is very beautiful! I hope they get her an awesome co-host!

Michael Strahan Named Kelly Ripa's Co-Host on "Live"

It's official: "Live! with Kelly" is now "Live! with Kelly and Michael".

As expected, Michael Strahan was introduced as Kelly Ripa's new "Live!" co-host and Regis Philbin replacement on Tuesday, ending weeks of speculation.



"As a guest co-host, Michael’s chemistry with Kelly was off the charts, and continued to grow each time he visited the show," said Michael Gelman, "Live!" executive producer, in a statement.

"The interaction between the co-hosts always has been what makes this show different from any other on television. Kelly and Michael’s ability to play off of one another and just plain have a good time together creates great TV for the audience."

He'll continue to be a host of the Los Angeles-based "Fox NFL Sunday".

I think it will be great. As a guy, how can you not watch a former NFL Player do a talk show. And as a guy, who WOULDNT want to see Kelly Ripa:heart: :eyes:
