I just watched Season 3's "Oscar's Birthday", this is a hilarious episode where Felix keeps trying to surprise a hostile Oscar with a surprise birthday party. Has anyone noticed in the scene where Felix brings out people from Oscar's past in his "This Is Your Life" presentation that when he introduces the lady who was Oscar's tap dancing teacher that as soon as she comes out and starts to tap over to Oscar, the scene is cut and you don't see any of her tapping over? I remember she tapped on over to Oscar and then kept on tapping and wouldn't stop, Felix had to force her to stop and join the other "old friends" in the back. But in the commercial DVD version that whole tapping over scene is cut out. In the commercial DVD she comes out of the door tapping for a second the next thing you know she's in the back with everyone else, the whole funny scene of her not stopping her tapping was cut out!:eek: I remeber this scene when watching it on TV for decades. Glad I made my own recordings on DVD before I bought these commercial DVDs, but it's annoying to have to go to another collection to see what you just missed. The commercial DVDs are still worth buying for the excellent video quality but the editing of music and even small bits like I mentioned is a crime.
Funny thing though about this "Oscar's Birthday" commercial DVD version, it still wound up being a full 25 minutes when I checked the timing at the end of the show. How could that be, did they add a previously edited scene to make up for the tap/edited scene? :confused:
