Rihanna Opens Up to Oprah About Chris Brown: "He Needed Help"

Grammy winner Rihanna is opening up about her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in an emotional interview with Oprah Winfrey about her Feb. 8, 2009 attack:

"I lost my best friend and everything I knew switched in a night and I couldn't control that. So I had to deal with that and it's not easy for me to understand or interpret, and it's not easy to interpret on camera with the whole world watching. It was so hard for me to pay attention with my mind figuring things out because now it became a circus and I felt protective. I felt that the only person to help right now is him.

It was a weird, confusing space to be in because as angry as I was —angry, hurt and betrayed — I felt like he made that mistake because he needed help and who's going to help him? Nobody's going to say he needs help, everyone's going to say 'he's a monster' without looking at the source. I was more concerned about him."



Rihanna's "Oprah's Next Chapter" episode airs Sunday, August 19th.

Is this interview gonna be on Youtube or can you watch it on Oprah's website tv network if she has one? I wanna see this interview because i love Rihanna. I don't have Oprah's network. So i won't be able to see it tomorrow. Rihanna is beautiful. She's got some issues but she's hot.

I think you can only find preview clips online now.

I'm sure someone will post the interview on YouTube shortly after it airs, so I would keep on checking.
