Keck's Exclusives: More Details on Billy Dee Williams' "NCIS" Role
Aug 20, 2012
by William Keck

Going into "NCIS'" 10th season, you'd think we've learned all there is to know about Mark Harmon's Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Think again. As I reported last week, an October episode will introduce Star Wars vet Billy Dee Williams as Gibbs' namesake.

"It's a relationship that existed between Gibbs' father, Jackson [Ralph Waite, who'll return], and one of his best friends, named Leroy Jethro," says exec producer Gary Glasberg. "Billy Dee's LJ will provide unexpected insight into the men who influenced Gibbs," as well as a startling revelation about his family.

Gibbs will also have his hands full with a new basement construction project that won't be revealed until the finale.
