View Full Version : Is it hard for you to watch the 2 part Big Move episode in syndication or DVD?
TVFactFan 08-11-2012, 09:55 PM Some people don't like watching this episode I guess because they consider the show depressing but it's only really sad at the end of part 1 and 2. I can watch with no problem
If you don't like watching just wondering why?

Every time I watch it I just say one thing to myself?
Why was Ned the Wino at the APT and he and James were not friends? He was just the neighborhood wino:lol:

You sound like a damn fool! You don't have to be friends to pay respect for someone dying! Ned and James knew each other very well! At least we knew who Ned was, and we didn't know who the others in the apartment were! DUH!!!!!!

Ned was the neighborhood wino and should not have been in those eps since he was always portrayed as a wino. The father should have been at the apt not Ned
and then Ned says......."we going to miss james" HUH? That mutherf%cker never even had a conversation with James the entire time james was on the show:lol:
*ROGER* 08-12-2012, 02:20 PM The only reason Ned the wino showed up at James' wake was because he wanted free food and free booze.
I know I wouldn't go to the wake or funeral of someone I wasn't even friends with. If there was no relationship/friendship during life, then why act all caring at the time of death?

Unless you are doing it because you were CLOSE to someone who was related to the person who died. I have done this twice at two separate for my boss and supervisor who lost a relative
But Ned was just a WINO which made his appearance odd. How are you going to portray this character as a drunken fool all the time and then all of a sudden clean him up and have him bring something to the house? And how would Ned have found out about the death anyway since he was drunk?

I disagree. You saw Ned show up with a turkey. He said some kind words to Florida, and it was sincere and from his heart. Besides, Florida offered the booze to him. It was a grieveing time. It doesn't matter the relationship. People want to pay respect, and it would highly be appreciated. Neighborhood winos are people with feelings too, as Ned showed here. You can't expect people to attend a wake or service to be family and close friends. If people are known, then you have to expect to see anybody paying respect.
You and Solomon sound real cold, and because of this, I'm glad I don't know yall in real life because I did, I wouldn't want yall to attend my wake or funeral because of comments like that. lol

I still don't you understand that it was hard to take ned seriously after being a WINO in all the previous eps.
So since you feel that way maybe Lootin Lenny should have been there too:lol:

Ned the wino was too dam DRUNK to talk, at least he was sober enough to stand up vertical and attend James funeral, what if Ned was lying in the gutter and NOT attend the funeral after James, Michael and JJ who cleaned his dirty azz up on the Spring Cleaning epsisode, so Ned had a right to go to the funeral
prestige 08-13-2012, 08:01 AM And how would Ned have found out about the death anyway since he was drunk?
You have to realize Ned was drunk 90% of the time and when you live in the gutter word get around, especially if you live in the projects....somebody may have told Ned about James dying and he wanted to pay his respects. Remember his wife took him back home, maybe she cleaned him up to attend the funeral:lol:
prestige 08-13-2012, 08:10 AM So since you feel that way maybe Lootin Lenny should have been there too:lol:
I would have rather seen Ned the wino at James funeral instead of Lootin Lenny who was the Neighborhood Husla trying to make a dollar out of stolen merchandise:lol: , at least Ned the wino showed up multiple times at the Evans household while drunk trying to have a conversation; therefore Ned the wino is considered as an associate of the family, so Ned the wino had a right to go to the funeral.
Brieannas21 08-13-2012, 09:53 AM I can understand why Ned went to the Evans apartment. Even though they lived in the projects, they lived in a tight knit community where everyone knew each other and their kids grew up together. Plus Ned knew James, it isn't like they were strangers and Ned just popped up out of nowhere. When my Grandmother passed away, people from her job who she wasn't even close with attended her funeral, it is a sign of respect.
Also Ned did not attend James' funeral, he just attended the Repass.

Good times did NOT show the family attending James funeral, is that something that I missed, because how do we know who showed at his actual funeral if the funeral was NOT aired on the episode. However we do know who showed for the repass.......

That's what I was trying to tell Solomon, he rather debate and give his personal point of view, but I see you can't tell him Sh*it.
Apologies to you Brie for swearing. Not intended at you, but at Solomon for being stubborn.
TVFactFan 08-13-2012, 05:58 PM It was ok for these characters to pay respect
Bookman
Wanda
Willona
James coworkers
But someone like ned who never had a serious scene the whole time he was on the show didn't need to be at the repass. He attended the Repass as RAYMOND ALLEN not Ned:lol:

I guess you and I are the only people who knows the definitions of respect, it's a crying shame

It doesn't matter, Ned was paying his respects, it was a honest and true gesture. He knew who James was, he had an interaction with James, I'm pretty sure that in the TV world Ned and James would have had a conversation here and there, they could have been acquaintances.

Now I definitely couldn't see him in that episode lol
Tap Dancer 11-07-2013, 09:07 PM The episodes aired tonight. It's been a few years since I saw them, but they didn't bother me. The really sad part was at the very end of part two when Florida smashed the punch bowl and yelled, "Damn, damn, damn!" But the show ended a few seconds later and life at my house was happy again. ;)

It was hard to watch because it was the beginning of the Non-James era.

That's the only bad part. No more James... And soon we'll have Carl, Penny, and Keith. Goody.
