Found this recently and must say I find it terribly disturbing because I always liked this guy whenever he was on UM.

I read about that this morning, too. I had totally forgotten that he'd been interviewed on UM. Even seeing his picture doesn't spark a memory of seeing him on the show.

In the DM article that shows a picture of him on the Larry King show, Dannion Brinkley (featured on UM regarding his own near death experience) is sitting next to Morse. I googled their names together and a forbidden site clip of the Larry King interview came back in the search results. I didn't watch the clip, so don't know what was said.

Morse and that poor girl's mother need to be packed off to prison for a very long time. (The mother supposedly witnessed the torture and did nothing to save her daughter from being abused.)

And here's a link to info on a NDE segment on UM where Morse commented on the subject. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Paige_Roark

It's with ever-increasing frequency these days that once-respected people suddenly go bad for no apparent reason, and while I don't know exactly what was going through Dr. Morse's head when he did these things, there's a gruesome possibility that comes to mind for me, and I sincerely hope I'm wrong about this, because it's just too sick and twisted to comprehend.

Anyway, one UM segment in which Dr. Morse was interviewed was that of Krystle Merzlock, who drowned in 1982 and had a NDE before being miraculously brought back to life. I shudder to consider the possibility that he's trying to drown his own daughter as a way of reliving that experience. I sincerely hope not, because it's difficult to imagine ANYBODY doing such a horrible thing, but when you have a well-known and well-respected pediatrician accused of it, that's even worse.

Here's an article that was just published that might give a bit of insight on this unfortunate situation. Despite his admirable success and a pediatrician and researcher of NDE's in children, it sounds like Dr. Morse has had a rather difficult life.

Oh, I remember this guy well. This situation enrages me...doesn't matter whether it was experimentation or pure torture. I hope he does hard time for this.

I hope he does too, and I'm not defending the experimentation thing. I just wasn't sure what could prompt a parent (especially a doctor) to do something so ungodly, but then when I remembered that he'd been interviewed in the Kristle Merzlock segment, so it dawned on me that he could have been having morbid flashbacks of that.

Very depressing. :( Poor little girl! I'm glad they're pressing serious charges for this.

UPDATE: Dr. Morse has been convicted of the crime. The following article is short and not very informative, saying nothing about whether he's going to prison or what his punishment will include. In any case, I'm glad to see that he's not getting away with it.

sadly, it seems like child abuse in this country is getting worse. Not just the frequency, but the type of abuse. Seems like every day I stumble upon an internet article with some horrifying tale. :(
