A few of my favorite lines from the first two episodes are:

Frasier to Daphne after finding out she's psychic: "Don't be alarmed. We'll contact you. If not by telephone then, through the toaster."

Frasier in the apartment singing to himself,
"Toreador,
Don't spit on the floor,
Use the cuspidor-a
What do you think it's for-a?"

"We've learned all we need to know about you....and a dash extra!" LOL "Good Son" is one of my favorites, and it's such a great intro to the series. I think my other faves from S1 are "Dinner at Eight," and "The Show Where Lilith....." Might have to watch some of these this weekend!

Frasier: Yes, I know what you think about everything. When was the last time you had an unexpressed thought?
Niles: I'm having one now.

From Space Quest, when Frasier took refuge at Nervosa trying to find a moment's peace :

Niles: Hello there Frasier
Frasier: Oh what fresh hell is this

I cannot tell you how much I LOVE the fact that the audience actually applauded when DHP said this line! And in the first episode! I rarely saw that happen at any other time during the series. IMO that speaks volumes about DHP's brilliance!

I know I've mentioned that a few times before but I figured it was worth mentioning again!

I know it! That is one great line.

DHP really was brilliant, esp. in the early episodes of the series. We always saw Niles being uptight, and of course the show got quite a bit of mileage out of that, humor-wise. But he did soften up a bit as time went on (largely thanks to Daphne, I'm sure!), but in those early eps, he's EXTREMELY uptight. The famous "wiping down the chair" bit is a great example!

I haven't seen some of the early episodes from Season 1 in a while. *hides*

I need to watch those again myself. After all I am trying to write stories on every episode! The earlier ones are fun to watch.
