View Full Version : Later seasons' reference to Beaver's youth...

I have been watching the final two seasons daily and have noticed a regular trend. In most every episode, Wally will say, "It's like when you were a little kid..." or Beaver will say "It's not like when I was a kid..." It gets aggravating as it seems the writers were trying to say, "Remember when Beaver was small and this show was really entertaining?" The recollections are not from past episodes, but new stories being shared, in what seems to be a weak attempt to hold on to the adorable Beaver we loved so in the early years. The later years were not bad, but just screamed of the squeaky clean image that 1950s TV seemed to present. Everything was far too formal to be enjoyed or even believable.

Well when they got to the later years it was the early 60's at that point, and times were changing.

it looked like more of the later episodes centered around Wally.
